How to Use the web version of Instagram

Here’s an overview of Instagram on the web and how you should use it.

Visit Instagram.com in any web browser and log into your account or create a new one. After logging in, you will see your news feed tab, which has a similar layout to what you see in mobile application.

As you scroll through the posts in your newsfeed, you can interact with them in almost exactly the same way as the mobile application. look for the heart button, the comment button, or the part button on each post to like, leave a comment or send to a friend. You can also click on the bookmark button on the right to save it to your tagged posts. Select the three dots in the upper-right corner to embed the post on a webpage, report it as inappropriate content, and more.

You will see more icons in the upper right corner of the screen. One looks like a small compass. Select it to see a simpler version of the Explore tab that features suggested users to follow and some thumbnails of their recent posts.

clicking on heart button at the top of the screen opens a small window showing a summary of your recent interactions. Scroll down to see them all.

Select the user icon to view their Instagram profile. This page is what other users see when they click or tap on your behalf.

Click Edit Profile next to your username to change your personal information and other account details such as password, authorized apps, comments, email and SMS settings.

Select any photo on your profile to view it in full size. It appears the same as an individual post page, but with interactions appearing to the right of the post rather than below it.

Post to Instagram from the web

After logging into Instagram in your favorite browser, select Create New Post (plus enter a square).

Drag and drop photos or choose Select from computer to browse photos on the desktop or laptop.

Drag photos to crop and select Next.

If you want to add more than one photo, select add (two stacked squares) in the lower right corner. From here you can add up for nine more photos.

You can also dismiss the photo by selecting the X on the photo thumbnail. Select Next after adding all your photos.

Select any Filters or Adjustments you want on your photos and select Next.

Add a caption to your post. You can also add emoji by selecting the smiley.

If desired, add a Location.

Under Accessibility, you can add alternative text for people who are visually impaired.

If you want to disable comments, disable the toggle in Advanced Settings.

Select Share at the top right corner.

Once your post is successfully uploaded, you will see the message Your post has been shared.
