Tap and hold recent button on your android device -> you will see all recent list of apps listed in chronological order.

Select one of the apps you want to view in split screen mode -> when the app opens, tap and hold the recent button one more time –> The screen will be split in two.

You will find a list of recent apps in the apps list. Tap the app you want to view or operate at the same time along with the previous app.

Once the second app is selected, you can view both apps at the same time on your Android Oreo device.

tap on recent button to view the recent apps list on your smartphone screen –> you will see a carousel-like layout of each app. You can swipe through apps horizontally to find the app you want to view in split screen mode.

Tap or long press the icon near the top of the individual app icon. Here we take the YouTube app as an example.

Now a drop-down menu appears -> Tap on the “Open in split-screen view” option among the other options displayed.

When tapping, you will see that the app is pinned to the top left corner of the screen -> the remaining recent apps will automatically appear on the right side or bottom side of your smartphone screen.

Tap the app you want to pin along with the previously selected app.

Picture – In – Picture Mode (PIP)

Click on settings option on your Android smartphone -> Tap on Apps option under settings

Tap on more options (three vertical dots on the right corner) -> dropdown menu will appear -> Tap on Special Access option under Apps.

Tap Picture-in-picture option under Special Access –> You will find a list of apps that support Picture-in-picture mode.

Tap any app you want to activate in PIP mode -> Scroll down up to YouTube and tap the button to activate PIP mode.

Let’s take an example to better understand the PIP mode. For example, if you are browsing something in Google Chrome and you want to view YouTube in PIP mode, you will need:

Press and hold Recents buttons the screen will be split in half.

You need to ensure that YouTube is visible in the recent apps list -> once found, tap on it -> The screen will be split in two.

Tap the little pill like button which is exactly between the two apps -> you will find four options: HomeSwap, Picture-in-picture and close -> Tap on Picture in Picture option.
