This year, Xiaomi is giving wireless headphones another try with its Buds 4 Pro earphones, which are designed with a greater emphasis on the former than the latter.

Xiaomi opted for a sleek, sophisticated look, and the color palette is businesslike rather than playful. There’s a Star Gold variant as well as the Space Black one that we have. When we used them on an aircraft, the hum of the engine was covered out by the music, and we were able to sleep the entire flight through without being disturbed.

You won’t experience the almost spooky silence that the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2 are capable of providing while your music isn’t playing, but then again, very few headphones can. These will perform a wonderful job of smoothing out the monotony of your office and the constant noise from the traffic outside, and they will also let you listen to music with a much more concentrated attention.

The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro include Xiaomi’s customised second-generation 11mm ultra-dynamic dual-magnet driver, which is responsible for the reproduction of sound in the headphones. Because it has a warm, upfront tone, as soon as you hit play, you are immediately drawn into the experience. We are grateful for the enthusiasm, and spending time with these friends ensures that we will never be bored.

The price of the Xiaomi Buds Pro 4 is the primary factor that prevents their widespread adoption. At a price of 240 pounds or 240 euros, they are firmly establishing themselves among the largest players in the industry; in certain cases, their price is even higher than that of their competitors. The fact that they can’t really keep up with what we’d anticipate in terms of pure performance at this pricing is a difficult thing to take into account.

Battery Life and Charging

Although Xiaomi claims a nine-hour battery life for the Buds 4 Pro, I’ve found that you’ll be lucky to get five hours out of a single charge. After listening to a podcast for 2.5 hours with ANC on, the battery life of my earbuds dropped from 80% to 10%. As luck would have it, I was just about to stop listening when the low battery indicator popped up. You might not always be that lucky.

Turning off ANC can extend the battery life of the headphones, but why would you do that when you’re already getting so much out of them? In terms of battery life, it’s not the worst but also not the finest. The good news is that the case extends the phone’s battery life by 29 hours (with ANC disabled), bringing the total to 38 hours.

Final Words

Given their present price, the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro don’t do much to impress. The headphones’ sound quality isn’t up to par with what we’ve come to expect at this price, despite their excellent build quality, long battery life, and reasonable noise cancellation.

Not that this is a bad thing, but if you’re using iOS and were thinking about buying them, keep in mind that they’re not designed for Apple users in the same way that AirPods aren’t designed for Android users. You do miss certain useful features without being able to access the app.
