The rear camera arrangement is expected to remain a triangular three-lens configuration on a raised plateau, though recent dummy units suggest the plateau itself may thicken and individual lenses may protrude more distinctly than on current models.
Apple may also move away from the two-tone rear casing aesthetic of the iPhone 17 Pro. Reports suggest the company has revised the back-glass replacement process to reduce the visible color difference between the Ceramic Shield 2 glass and the aluminum frame, yielding a more uniform appearance. Additionally, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is rumored to be slightly thicker and heavier than its predecessor, with a reported weight of approximately 243 grams. If accurate, that would make it roughly 3 grams heavier than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which remains the heaviest iPhone Apple has shipped.
Battery Capacity
Chinese regulatory filings point to meaningful battery increases for both Pro models. The iPhone 18 Pro is reportedly rated at 4,056 mAh in China and 4,288 mAh in the United States, up from the iPhone 17 Pro’s 3,988 mAh and 4,252 mAh.
