Best Bissell Vacuums

The American company BISSELL is known for making vacuum cleaners and floor care tools, and it has a wide range of options to meet different cleaning needs. Their line of vacuum cleaners has everything from small cordless handhelds to large uprights and everything in between. BISSELL’s bagless designs are meant to make their products more affordable by reducing the need for replacement bags.

But some of their smaller models may have trouble picking up big pieces of trash, and their larger corded uprights can feel cheap in terms of how well they are made. The Good Housekeeping Institute Cleaning Lab has been testing BISSELL vacuum cleaners for many years to make sure of their quality. During the evaluation process, both lab tests and the opinions of consumer testers are taken into account.

The tests look at things like how well the vacuum picks up dirt, how well it moves in different types of homes, and how well it works on different types of floors. BISSELL vacuum cleaners are always highly rated because they can be used in a variety of situations, last a long time, and are easy to use.

The Bissel Featherweight is a cheap stick cleaner that didn’t do very well in our tests. It is by no means the easiest or most handy model on the market. During our tests, its ability to clean left a lot to be desired. This vacuum is for people who are on a tight budget but still want a good cleaner.

This model didn’t do a good job of cleaning rugs. It worked pretty well with rice and oatmeal, but not so well with pet hair, cereal, and flour. On the thin carpet, it left about a dozen grains, but on the second pass, it cleaned up most of them. It was very hard for it to move on the fluffy carpet, and it took almost ten passes. When it came to pet hair, flour, and cereal, it didn’t work well and wasn’t a good way to clean these messes on thin or fluffy rugs.

The Good

  1. Easy to move and not too heavy
  2. Flexible, with options for both handheld and floor vacuuming
  3. Long cord length to reach farther

The Bad

  1. A corded design makes it hard to move.
  2. Might not be as strong as bigger ones for a deep clean.

The CrossWave Cordless Max has the most features and is the most expensive of the CrossWave line. It can vacuum and wash supported floors (and some area rugs) at the same time. This device will not be as powerful as dry vacuums and carpet cleaners that are made specifically for those tasks. Instead, it will be made for everyday use.

Overall, this vacuum works well for general cleaning, both when it’s wet and when it’s dry. Its motor is not as strong as those of dedicated dry vacuums or mops, but the fact that it is portable and can be used every day makes up for that. It doesn’t do a good job of cleaning narrow grout, but because the dirty water is sucked up right away, the grout looks better than when you use a normal mop.

The Good

  1. All-in-one cleaner for different kinds of floors
  2. The dual-action brush roll gets rid of dirt and other things very well.
  3. Large amount of water in the tank for longer cleaning sessions

The Bad

  1. A corded design makes it hard to move.
  2. Brush roll needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly.

The Bissell Zing is pretty normal in terms of how it’s made. The power button is on the left, and the line rewind is on the right. The flexible hose is about 4 feet long, but it can be stretched to about 6 feet.

It has a floor tool, but it doesn’t have a powered brush, so it can only be used on bare floors. It only has the floor tool, the upholstery tool, and the telescopic stick, but if you read the reviews, you’ll see that a few people say it also came with a brush and a crevice tool.

The Good

  1. Easy to carry and not too heavy
  2. Compact design for convenient storage
  3. Fits both carpets and hard floors

The Bad

  1. A corded design makes it hard to move.

The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is a good option if you want a quick and easy way to clean up small mistakes without spending a lot of money. This vacuum cleaner is just as good as the best ones, but it costs a lot less. This handheld cleaner is especially good at cleaning up tough messes and pet hair, but it isn’t the best for getting into all the hard-to-reach places in your home. But for the price, it is one of our best pocket vacuums.

The Pet Hair Eraser was also very good at removing dirt and mud that had dried on a flat surface. It worked as quickly and well as the best tools. For this test, we used the upholstery tool, which has an odd shape and isn’t great for small edges or corners. We found it hard to clean the walls, shelves, and window sills.

The Good

  1. The cordless design lets you move around freely.
  2. Light and easy to work with
  3. Powerful suction makes it easy to remove pet hair.

The Bad

  1. It might not be good for big cleaning jobs.

FAQs

Are Bissell vacuums suitable for pet owners?

Yes, Bissell has a number of vacuums that are made for people with pets. Most of the time, these models have special features to deal with pet hair, dander, and messes. Look for models with words like “Pet,” “Pet Hair Eraser,” or “Pet Turbo” in their names. These are usually the best ones for cleaning up after pets.

Do Bissell vacuums have HEPA filters?

Bissell vacuums have different filtration options, and some even have HEPA filters. HEPA filters are great for people with allergies or asthma because they catch allergens and small particles very well. Check the product description or specifications of a Bissell vacuum to see if it says that it comes with a HEPA filter.
