Sony WH-1000XM4
If you’ve got the money and want a top-notch pair of headphones for modern living, the Sony WH-1000XM4 is the way to go. The combination of high quality Bluetooth codecs, great sound, improved noise cancellation, good battery life and features like autopause and Bluetooth multipoint makes them the best overall option for most people.
The Sony WH-1000XM4 has finally arrived. Its predecessor, the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones, stole Bose’s crown when they were first released in 2018, and we’ve been waiting for a successor ever since. Now Sony has released the new and improved headset that adds multipoint connectivity at the expense of aptX. But is it enough to compete in a crowded field of Active Noise Canceling (ANC) headphones?
Jabra Elite Active 75t
The Jabra Elite Active 75t are great for sports. They have an animated, stunned sound profile that can help keep you active during training and easy-to-use controls. Their compact design makes them easy to fit in your gym bag and they have good comfort and stability. They may not fit securely enough for high-impact workouts like kickboxing or gymnastics, but for running or working out, they’re a great choice.
The Jabra Elite Active 75t are suitable for phone calls. The microphone quality is decent, unlike many Bluetooth headphones, and your voice sounds reasonably clear. Its in-ear design also helps block out noise that can make it harder for you to hear the person you’re with. phone com, which is useful, but they lack an ANC feature and are not ideal for phone calls in noisy areas such as busy streets or subway stations.
Bose 700
Bose follows a very distinctive styling for its older QuietComfort and SoundLink headphones, which are instantly recognizable to anyone even slightly familiar with headphones. However, the company departed from that design language with the Bose Noise Canceling 700 headphones, adopting an entirely new aesthetic.
The headphones look quite different and a little artistic in our opinion, with smoother textures, fewer edges and buttons, and a very unique headband that doesn’t seem to be connected to the headphones at all; don’t worry, he’s firmly attached. The headband frame is metal, while the earplugs are plastic with a matte finish. The underside of the headband has a soft foam padding that is also found around the headphones to ensure a proper noise-insulating seal.
Apple AirPods Pro
Apple AirPods Pro are the best sounding headphones from Apple. They offer active noise cancellation as well as an improved design compared to original AirPods. Apple AirPods Pro has also gotten even better recently. A slew of new updates have come to headphones since the iOS 15 update in September 2021.
These updates include Conversation Boost, which is designed to help you hear face-to-face conversations more clearly when you’re using them, as well as the ability to announce notifications with Siri and integration with Apple’s Find My app, among many others .
MW08 Master and Dynamic
We have been reviewing a Master and Dynamic product for some time now. The brand makes stylish audio products aimed directly at the audiophile market, and the MW08 is their first pair of true wireless headphones we’ve tested. With a premium price tag that puts them in the company of Bose, Bowers & Wilkins, Bang & Olufsen and Sony, M&D seems confident to hold on. So how does MW08 fare?
The design is a little untraditional, but it reaps elegant results. The headphones are almost designed in a ‘V’ shape, the glossy outer surface using ceramic material which M&D says is lightweight and scratch resistant (though unfortunately not resistant to my fingerprints). While not a wearable garment, these headphones exude clothing elegance.
Apple AirPods Max
These headphones scream ‘premium’ the minute you touch them; the anodized aluminum ear protectors, soft foam ear protectors, polyurethane covered stainless steel and mesh band, and the button and the crown dial exude a kind of luxury I’ve never experienced in a pair of headphones before.
The Apple AirPods Max comes with a Type-C-to-Lightning USB charging cable and what the company calls a Smart Case. I won’t sting words here; This case looks absolutely ridiculous and barely wraps the earplugs, let alone protects the rest of the headset. However, the magnets in the case interact with sensors in the headphones to put the AirPods Max into a low-power mode that is effectively the closest to being turned off.
Cleer Enduro ANC
The sound in these headphones is bold and dynamic, while noise canceling is up par with what Cleer has given us in the past. But the battery life is what gives the Enduro ANC its charm, which, at 60 hours, crushes the competition. Cleer updated the design to be lighter, although the downside is a less premium look.
The Cleer Enduro ANC was originally listed at $149.99, but is currently reduced to $129.99 and is available at major online stores. It is also for sale on the Cleer website. Available colors include Light Gray and Navy Blue. Included with your purchase is a 3.5mm audio cable, airline adapter, carrying case and USB-C charging cable.
AirPods 3
AirPods 3 are unsurprisingly optimized for use within Apple’s broad ecosystem, so Android users miss out on a lot of the extra. features that set them apart from other true wireless headphones on the market, and the lack of noise cancellation means they’re not the high-spec headphones at this price point.
Although these new designs features are welcome, we were very impressed with the improvements Apple has made to the audio performance of these headphones. New drivers and amplifiers deliver well-balanced sound, while support for Spatial Audio promises to make the music you love more immersive than ever.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro
these true wireless headphones look like a mixup of Galaxy Buds Plus and Galaxy Buds Live. Galaxy Buds Live’s shiny metallic paint is back, this time in silver, black and violet. The shell-like grain carrying case is also back. The case is quite small, but it looks robust, and the buttons fit neatly into it, protected by magnets (and can charge wirelessly too).
Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro uses Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app for many of its features. This is where you can access noise cancellation. features, turn ambient sound on, set or turn off touch controls, try out different EQ profiles, and much more. The noise canceling function has a high and low setting, and you can switch between them at will. Included EQ profiles like Bass Boost, Soft, Dynamic, Clear and Treble Boost are good, though unfortunately there’s no option to set your own.
Bose QuietComfort 45
These have a more modern design. However, the goal of the QuietComfort series is to keep you comfortable for hours on end, while blocking out the world. The QC45 continues to do just that with its lightweight, easy-to-pack design and an excellent traveling companion.
Like other Bose headphones and headphones, the QuietComfort 45 works with the company’s music app. The software doesn’t offer much in terms of customization, but it will guide you, through the built-in controls, display battery life, allow you to change ANC modes and switch between connected Bluetooth devices.
