Microsoft Teams is a great collaboration and communication tool in Windows 10. However, there are times when you need to block someone in Microsoft Teams. In Microsoft Teams, communication is often blocked because not everyone is open to whom you can send messages or call unless an authorized user invites that person to join a team. So if you run into an issue where a particular user becomes an issue, whether through bullying, stalking, or other harassment (such as spam), you can block someone in Microsoft Teams.

There are three types of accounts – organizational, educational and personal accounts, with slightly different functions. You can only block a user when accessing MS Teams from a personal account. If the person is part of your organization, you can simply ignore them if it’s a minor annoyance, or report them to your system administrator or Human Resources Department if the problem is serious.

Steps to Block a Contact in Microsoft Teams

In MS Teams, click on the message of the person you want to block or silence.

Click on the menu icon (three dots) that now appears to open the menu.

From the drop-down menu, click Block.

If Block is not available in the menu, click Mute in the drop-down menu.
