How to change default font size in Google Chrome browser – Guide
Google Chrome – Google’s official internet browser allows you to change the browser’s default fonts as well as its size. You can easily do this from the Settings menu and switch between various pre-set options such as serif, sans-serif, or fixed-width fonts. Adjusting the size of objects in your browser can make them easier to see or read. To change the font size, we recommend using the zoom function because the changes are quick and easy to edit or reverse. It also works with all types of content.
The following sections show you how to Quickly adjust the size of fonts and images on a page, or just the font, keeping images at their default sizes. To proceed, select your browser from the list below and follow the instructions.
How to change default font size Google Chrome
You have three methods to change the default font or text size in Google Chrome browser on Windows 10:
Increase or decrease Chrome’s default text size using the Zoom tool
When we talk about changing the default text size in Google Chrome, there are 2 options. One is to change the size of the text just to make it readable and the second is to change the size of each element on the page and adjust the same on the web page so that everything looks bigger (or smaller) at the same time. The procedure to change Chrome’s default text size using the Zoom tool is as follows:
Click on the ellipsis icon (the three dots in the top right corner of Google Chrome) and change the Zoom value. The default Zoom value is 100% and this corresponds to the default size of elements on web pages. The Zoom tool does not simply enlarge the web page, but increases the size of elements (text, images, videos, etc.) in the same proportion so that they fit on the screen.
Increase or decrease the font using Settings
While the Zoom tool is highly recommended for web pages that you find unreadable, if you simply want to increase the size of the text, you can do so through Google Chrome Settings as follows: Click on the ellipsis icon as explained earlier and go to Settings. On the tabs on the left, select Appearance. In the Appearance section you will find the Font Size. The default value for font size is Medium, but you can change it to larger or smaller options.
Using Precise Font Size in Google Chrome
As explained earlier, the default font size is decided by the website and we can only make it bigger or smaller on our side. So we get 5 settings namely ‘very small, small, medium, large, very large’ in the usual settings. If you really want to adjust the text size, here’s the procedure: On the Appearance tab, click Customize Fonts under Font Size. From here, you can change the font size precisely.
