Back 4 Blood harkens back to 2009, when we was lining up headshots by the dozen while shooting the shit with friends. Turtle Rock has faithfully resurrected the thrilling, adrenaline-pumping zombie slaying that others have only attempted. Making an unambitious Left 4 Dead 3 would have sufficed for me, but Back 4 Blood game is also a deck builder, a looter, a hero shooter, and even a roguelike. It’s a game that Turtle Rock couldn’t have created ten years ago, and the addition of these smart, modern ideas is what elevates it to greatness.
Back 4 Blood video game immediately flips the premise of Left 4 Dead on its head. You are no longer ordinary survivors fleeing crumbling cities. You are mercenaries who hunt down zombie infestations, rescue trapped civilians, and collect supplies for surviving settlements. Each level pack begins with your party leaving the safety of the Fort Hope hub world to seek trouble. It’s like jumping ahead to later seasons of The Walking Dead, where everyone who is still alive is a superhuman murder machine.
How to Change Difficulty In Back 4 Blood
As for how to change the difficulty in Back 4 Blood, it turns out that it can only be done when we create a game, both online and alone, because the change is not possible unless we start from scratch. So, we will go to the Play menu, choose campaign and create career, then the difficulty options are presented, we believe these recruit, veteran, and nightmare, we choose and enter into creating career. Given the increase in difficulty, it is best to be aware of what each option represents, as well as the following details:
In recruit: the cleaners with the highest health, damage, and ammunition capacity count, the variety of Ridden and the level of events is limited, the background of the corruption cards is limited, friendly fire is deactivated, and it has a -50 per hundred supply points earned. In veteran: we know what to do in this difficulty, optimal team performance is important, and the decks that help us in the confrontations, the cleaners have health, damage, and ammunition is normal, there is a standard variety of the Ridden and in the events’ difficulty will be normal, friendly fire at 35%, and base supply points earned. In nightmare: it is very complicated, the cleaners have more trauma damage and less life, the Ridden have more life, damage, and many varieties, it is impossible to draw cards or obtain additional resources when using continuous ones, and the Corruption card pool will be depleted.

About the Game
Back 4 Blood is a spiritual successor to the acclaimed Left 4 Dead Xbox and PC franchise of the aughts, but it definitely deserves to stand on its own as one of the year’s best games – and in many ways, you’re better off not thinking about the game’s pedigree at all if you really want to enjoy everything it has to offer. We can’t think of another game right now that is as much fun to play with your friends in terms of the best co-op games, and the game’s surprising degree of replicability is a testament to the thought and care that went into the game design and mechanics. Even if you’ve played the campaign a hundred times, it still feels new.
There are also mutation variations and general game mechanical chaos to keep you entertained along the way, especially if you play through Back 4 Blood’s online matchmaking or with your friends. The solo campaign is a lot of fun, and the AI teammates are more than capable, but even with the difficulty reduced, your squad becomes largely irrelevant in the final acts. Probably more importantly, the most common complaint we’ve heard from other players is that the PvP game mode lacks the complexity that the Online Co-op Campaign and, to a lesser extent, the Solo Campaign modes exhibit.
This could be a deal breaker for Left 4 Dead 2 players, and we wouldn’t blame them. Similarly, Left 4 Dead 2 has remained popular for years after its release due to an active mudding community. Back 4 Blood does not currently support modding and may never do so. This may be reason enough for many potential players to pass on Back 4 Blood.
Gameplay
Back 4 Blood proudly wears its Left 4 Dead pedigree on its sleeve, sticking to very similar core mechanics to its forefather. It’s best described as a cooperative shooter set in a zombie apocalypse. It challenges you to fight your way through a story campaign in groups of four or solo, blasting hordes of zombies (known in-game as ridden) while desperately trying to get from one safe room to the next.
The aesthetic and gameplay are almost entirely inspired by Left 4 Dead. The only difference is a much more developed “tutorial” that requires you to play through the first four episodes of the campaign with AI bot teammates while learning the game’s various combat and item management mechanics. If you’ve played Left 4 Dead before, I’d skip it. The tutorial makes the game appear very simple, with your avatar options limited to four of the eight “cleaners” (characters). Plus, playing the levels with friends is a lot more fun.
The characters on offer include all of the expected zombie stereotypes. Most appear to be carbon copies of The Walking Dead and have equally clichéd, but amusing, dialogue. There are no skill trees in Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Warhammer: Vermin tide, or Deep Rock Galactic. So, aside from their starting weapons, there’s very little that distinguishes them at first glance. Final Words
We hope you like our article on How to Change Difficulty In Back 4 Blood. Back 4 Blood is an excellent co-op zombie shooter that builds on the fantastic foundations of the Left 4 Dead series with a card-based perk system and wonderfully satisfying gunplay. However, if you intend to play solo, you should steer clear, as the design is clearly geared toward multiplayer.
