How to Control LED Strip Lights with The Help Alexa – Guide

How to Control LED Strip Lights with Alexa Help

List of components needed to make SMART LED strips

Typical LED Strips – You can select any brand type until they have 4 pin configuration (red, green, blue, common (black)).

Male Connector – There are only standard pin connectors.

A Controller – This is our brain. We will use this device to instruct our LED strips.

12V Power Adapter – We have to use a 12V power adapter to power our LED strip controller.

Sealing Tape – It is best to seal our wire connectors for security.

How to connect Alexa to LED strip lights

Grab your LED strips and navigate the wire outlet. Must show 4-pin female type socket. Here, you can see the respective wires as Red, Green, Blue and Black. Then connect the 4-pin male connector to the female connector on the LED strip.

Now, take your controller. It has another female connector with a 4-pin configuration. Carefully examine the pin connection and connect the 4-pin male connector of the LED strip to this female connector. Red = Red, Green = Green…etc.

To connect the power, you can use your 12 power adapter. After plugging in the power adapter, it will make the LED strips turn ON with power.

Done, now you need to install a support application on your mobile phone. The link to the app can be found via the QR code on the controller. After installing this app, connect your mobile on the controller’s Wi-Fi LED network.

Then log into the app and click on the plus icon. It will redirect you to an option “Directly connect device control”. Use this to connect your app to your home Wifi network.

When you are finishing step 05, it will ask you to name your device. You can see this name on your Alexa devices. After that, it’s quite simple to control it through voice commands. You can follow your normal steps to add and control your new device via Alexa or Google Home.
