How to control PC with Google Assistant

  • Install Pushbullet and IFTTT apps on your mobile device. Both apps are available for free. When the installation is complete, create login credentials in the apps and grant the necessary permissions.
  • Open IFTTT and Pushbullet on your PC using the login details selected in the first step.
  • Now install Push2Run on your PC and create an account by selecting username and password. Once you’re done with that, you’re done putting the toolkit in order. It’s time for the real surgery.
  • Open the official Pushbullet account page using this link and search for ‘Access Token’ by scrolling down. Once you figure this out, tap on ‘Create Access Token’ to find the key values ​​and copy the entire token string. This token is not shareable, keep that in mind.
  • In the Push2Run app on your PC, look for the ‘Enable Pushbullet’ box after completing the setup. Paste the token you copied into the Pushbullet API box and copy whatever is mentioned in the ‘Title Filter’ box. You will need this later.
  • Create a task in IFTTT using this link. Then press ‘+’ button and search on Google Assistant. Tap on it and select ‘say a sentence with a text ingredient’. Be sure to select simple sentences; those that are easy to choose. If you have some specific numbers in mind, you can create a phrase using those as well.
  • Enter the voice commands you will use to control your PC on the next page. The $ sign is where you should write a command. Then click on ‘Create trigger’ button finish.
  • In case you encounter errors related to Google Assistant, all you have to do is open the IFTTT page and go to the ‘Edit’ option and start again by requesting the new use of Google Assistant.
  • Moving on, select the ‘Then That’ part of the sentence, search for Pushbullet and open it. Now, click on the ‘Push a Note’ option and paste the text you copied in step 5 (Text Filter) into the Title box. Press ‘Create Action’ button.

  • Activate the toggle in the main window and invoke Google Assistant. Say the command: Open BloomTimes; and see your PC doing exactly the same.
  • If you face any problem opening a certain website on Google, try changing the default browser. Do this in Windows settings: Settings >> Applications >> Default Applications >> Web Browser.
  • To shut down your PC, specify ‘shutdown’ in the ‘Description’ section, ‘shutdown or shut down’ in the ‘Listen’ section, and ‘shutdown.exe in the ‘Open’ section.
