Open Google Docs
You can access Google Docs through your Gmail account or by visiting docs.google.com.
open a new document
Under “Start a New Document”, select “Blank Document”.
Edit page layout
If you need to change page specifications, such as margins or page layout, select “File” at the top of the page and select “Page Setup”.
add a border
To add a border to Google Docs, use the table function. Consider decreasing the margin size if you are adding a border. Add a table cell by selecting “Insert.” Mouse over “Table” and select a single-cell table. When the table appears in the document, drag the bottom border to the bottom of the page. You can edit the border style in the table edit menu.

Choose your text style including font, size and any title style. Enter the cover page information based on the formatting style you are using.
format your text
Select the text and choose center alignment from the edit menu. With text selected, choose line spacing button in the edit menu. Select “Double” from the drop-down menu.
add an image
If you want to add an image, click “Insert” in the top menu. Hover your cursor over “Image” and select the location of the image, such as Google Drive or the photo file on your computer.
Put text on your image
To add text on top of the image, use the drawing tool. Select “Insert” from the edit menu and hover over “Drawing”. Select “New”. In the drawing tool, you can add your image using the image input box. With the image placed in the drawing tool, select the text box button. Inside the text box, you can type and format your content using alignment, text color, background color, size and font buttons. When your image is complete, click “Save and Close”. The image should appear in your Google Doc.
save your document
Your Google Doc stays up-to-date in your Google Drive. If you want to save the file to your computer, select “File” and hover over “Download”. Select the type of file you want to save and the preferred location to store it.
