How to Customize Google Text-to-Speech Voices – Guide
Let’s cover some of the basics first. Android has a built-in speech engine – you know that, one of the coolest features of the modern smartphone is its ability to talk to you. The default voice is of a fairly high quality and compares well with the other top digital voices out there. Google text-to-speech engine
Most Android device comes pre-installed with TTS service. However, if this is not the case for your device, make sure you install Google’s TTS service before proceeding. Once installed, you can access this feature following the steps below:
Speech rate refers to the speed at which the narrator speaks. You can increase or decrease this rate by simply sliding the voice rate toggle. Also, if the pitch rate of the voice is too high (or too low), use the Pitch slider to adjust it accordingly. Once you’ve made your decision on speech rate and tone, you can try it out by tapping play button. Or you can reset them to their default settings using the Reset option.
Change Google text-to-speech language
Language here refers to the narrator’s language in which he would speak the texts written on his device. By default, the language is set to the device’s system language. To change the language, just tap the language option on the text-to-speech output screen. Now select the desired language from the list. But you wouldn’t find all languages here.
