How to customize the iPhone home screen – Guide
iPhone, a series of smartphones produced by Apple Inc., combining mobile phone, digital camera, music player and personal computing technologies. After more than two years of development, the device was released in the United States in 2007. The iPhone was later released in Europe in 2007 and in Asia in 2008. Apple designed its first mobile smartphone to run the Mac OS X operating system, popularized on the company’s personal computers. You no longer have to look at a grid of icons every time you unlock your iPhone. Apple has finally given you the ability to customize the layout of your home screen so that instead of just repositioning the icons, you can remove them entirely thanks to the App Library.
And with a deep catalog of home screen widgets, you can also add something beyond just apps. But iPhone personalization goes much further. By combining shortcuts with custom icons and widgets, you can give your iPhone a radically different look. For me, there are the most crucial tools for designing a home screen – custom app icons, custom widgets and a solid library of wallpapers. Once you have these components under your radar, all you need to do is give your imagination a long spin. Depending on a specific theme like dark, vibrant and nature, you can set a suitable wallpaper, place app icons and widgets in perfect harmony with the layout. Now that you’ve got the idea, let’s put it into practice!

Nothing looks so elegant in home screen as custom application icons. So if you want to extend the customization game, be sure to create custom app icons so that your iPhone home screen will be more personalized. In case you were wondering how you would be able to create app icons, let me just say that the process is pretty straightforward. All you need to do to get started is simply choose the desired icon, color, emblem or glyph according to your design theme, then place your custom icons on the home screen using the Shortcuts application.
App Icon Changer (free, $9.99/mo) and Launch Center Pro (free, offers in-app purchases) are the apps I use to create custom iPhone app icons. Both are available for free and greatly simplify the task of creating app icons. So, download the app on your device and open it. After that, tap on the Edit Icons tab. Then choose the Icon tab and select the desired icon. After that, tap on Color and Background tabs to select your preferred color and background. Then tap on download button to save the application to your camera list.
After saving the app icon in the Photos app, launch the Shortcuts app and tap the “+” button in the upper right corner of the screen. Then tap Add Action. After that, look for the Open app action and select the app you want to launch. Up then select the icon you just created in the Photos app. At the finaladd the application icon to the home screen. In the future, you can tap this custom icon to launch the corresponding app. If you want to follow the step-by-step instructions, follow our detailed guide on creating and using custom app icons.
