Facebook Messenger is one of the most popular social media platforms featurese, while it’s a great way for users to have private conversations, many also use it to start a discussion or say things they don’t really mean. It’s not uncommon to make a mistake in Messenger or immediately regret sending a message. In the past, when mistakes like this happened to us, we just had to leave them on Facebook Messenger for all eternity. This is no longer the case.

How to delete a facebook message on your computer

  • Go to Facebook in your desktop web browser.
  • In the menu bar at the top of the window, click on the “Messenger” icon, which looks like a speech bubble. You can also go to your Messenger inbox by scrolling down the menu on the left side of your home page and clicking on “Messenger”.
  • Click the conversation you want to delete a message from. In the conversation, hover your mouse over the message you want to delete. Click on the three-dot menu that appears to the left or right of your message and click “Remove.”
  • If you are trying to delete the message 10 minutes after sending it, you can choose “Remove for all” or “Remove for you”. Afterwards, the only option you will see will be “Remove for you”.

  • Go to Facebook in your desktop web browser.
  • In the menu bar at the top of the window, click on the “Messenger” icon, which looks like a speech bubble. You can also go to your Messenger inbox by scrolling down the menu on the left side of your home page and clicking on “Messenger”.
  • Find the conversation you want to delete and hover over it until a three-dot icon appears. Click the three-dot icon and select “Open in Messenger.”
  • In the Messenger window, hover over the conversation you want to delete and click the three-dot icon.
  • No pop-up under the three-dot icon, click “Delete.”
  • In the next pop-up, click “Delete” to delete the entire conversation.
