How to Disable Full-Screen Mode in MS Edge in Windows – Guide
In Microsoft Edge, fullscreen is not the same as maximizing browser windows. When you use full-screen functionality, the Edge browser fills the entire screen. When enabled, it will hide the desktop taskbar as well as browser toolbars. When you move the mouse to the top, the address bar and toolbar will appear until the mouse pointer is there.
This function, however, can be turned off if you are not using it or want to get rid of it. Many people may inadvertently activate this feature pressing the hotkey for another purpose. Others may want to disable this feature entirely for all standard users.
In this post, we will teach you how to break fullscreen mode in Microsoft Edge quickly and effectively.
Use the F11 toggle
To use Microsoft Edge in full-screen mode, first open the Edge browser. You can do this from the Start menu.
Once open, press F11 on your keyboard to enter fullscreen mode, no matter if your browser is maximized or just taking up part of the screen. Pressing the F11 hotkey causes it to enter full-screen mode. When you’re done using full screen mode, press F11 on your keyboard again as F11 acts as a toggle.
Open the Edge browser.
Select the Settings and more option, represented by three horizontal dots in the upper-right corner of the browser window. This opens a drop-down menu.
Position the mouse pointer over the Zoom option and select the Full Screen icon. It looks like a double-headed diagonal arrow.
To exit full screen mode, move the cursor to the top of the screen and select the double arrow icon.
