How To Edit Destination on Lyft – Guide

Lyft is releasing an update to their app that will make collapsing much easier. Passengers will be able to move their boarding points after requesting a trip in the travel sharing app. The pins were previously fixed in place after a travel request.

Change your destiny in Lyft

Originally, you couldn’t change your destination midway on Lyft. Neither the driver nor the passenger could modify the order once it was entered. The driver could take him to his new destination, but few would, as this left them open to complaints for not taking passengers where they wanted.

One change added the passenger’s ability to change the destination midway through the trip. The driver still cannot change it for obvious reasons. Passengers can change destination on Lyft, Lyft XL or Lyft Lux journeys, but not on Lyft Line.

To change your Lyft destination:

1. Open the Lyft app on your device.
2. Drag the destination pin to the new delivery point and drop it.
3. The app will be updated with new ETA, price and details.

Once you’ve made the change, the driver will also be notified, but will likely mention that you’re changing your destination anyway so they’ll wait for you. The rate will automatically update along with the new destination.

To define up custom destinations if Lyft

The Lyft app has two main destinations, Work and Home. While they may be our main delivery points, they are unlikely to be the only ones. If you regularly attend a class, gym, friends or anywhere else, you can add custom destinations in the app to expedite your request for a trip.

1. Open the Lyft app and select Add destination.
2. Select Add custom shortcut.
3. Enter the name and address, then name your shortcut.
4. Select Save in the upper right corner.

You can do this multiple times to create shortcuts to your most frequent trips.

Make Lyft use Apple Maps instead of yours

The Lyft map is good and has enough detail to help you get around, but it can make you use Apple’s much more detailed maps. If you are more satisfied with Maps, you can link to the Lyft app and use this screen instead of the built-in Lyft map.

1. Open iPhone settings and select Maps.
2. Activate Lyft to allow the app to access Maps.
3. Open Maps and select a destination on the map.
4. Select the Ride icon in the lower right corner of the map screen.
5. Select Lyft from the options and select Book or Open Lyft.
6. Select your option and request Lyft.
