Firefox has a built-in password manager, also known as Lockwise. Lockwise Password Manager is secured with your Firefox Account and gives you access to your desktop passwords and mobile. If you used Lockwise but now want to switch to another password manager app, here we show you how to export and delete your saved passwords in Firefox. By selecting the Logins and Passwords submenu, you effectively launch Firefox Lockwise in the browser as a tab. Think of it as your vault where you can search any login and password saved by Firefox.
To start the export process, click on the three dots icon in the upper right corner below the three horizontal lines. (This is for general Firefox settings.) After clicking on the three dots icon, you will see a new set of options. Select the “Export records” option. a pop-up a message will appear informing you that your passwords and login details will be converted to a readable text file. Confirm your selection by clicking the red “Export” button button. This opens the file explorer, which saves the data as a “logins.csv” file. You can rename it here before selecting the folder to save. Remember where you saved the .csv file for future imports so other browsers or password managers can use it.
