The DualSense is more than just a Duals hock 4 with a fancy design. It has a number of important new technologies that make it truly next-gen. The color has changed to a two-tone look like the PS5, and the size has grown and been rounded off a bit (to, almost, Xbox-form). But the thumbstick are still in the same place, and the touch screen is still at the top. A lightbar is also back, but this time it is around the touch panel instead of on top. The PlayStation team also had to work hard to make the new controller’s rechargeable battery last longer. That’s probably one of the biggest problems with the Duals hock 4, so it’s great that it’s been fixed.
In our own tests, the DualSense worked for about 12 hours before it was completely dead. Games that used haptic feedback and adaptive triggers a lot were part of this group. The DualSense controller for the PS5 is the best one Sony has made in a long time. It’s comfortable, works well for both big and small hands, has a textured surface, and buttons that click and respond. It even has detailed haptic feedback and triggers whose resistance can change depending on the game you’re playing on the PS5. If you play games on a PC, you don’t have to use a keyboard and mouse.
Some video games make more sense when you use a controller, or maybe you just want to relax on the couch with your PC hooked up to a TV. A PS5 controller can be connected to a PC. Microsoft and PlayStation are competitors in the gaming world, but the PS5 controller connects over Bluetooth, so it’s easy to use it with your PC. We have mentioned steps below to Fix PS5 Controller Not Working On PC.
Ways to Fix PS5 Controller Not Working On PC
Delete previous Bluetooth pairing and re-pair
- Press the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings menu.
- Select Bluetooth and Devices.
- Click on Devices.
- From there, check which of your Bluetooth devices is currently connected to your PC, click the three dots for that tile, and select Remove Device.
- Once you’ve verified that no active Bluetooth device is still connected to your PC, click the Add Device button at the top.
- Click Bluetooth.
- Wait for the system to start searching for devices.
- While the Windows PC is searching for Bluetooth devices, press the PS button and the Share button on your DualSense controller for 10-15 seconds. Wait until the blue lights in the center start flashing faster than usual.
- Your PS5 controller should show up as a wireless controller. Select it to connect your PS5 DualSense controller.
Try another USB cable
If you’re using a wired connection between your controller and PC, the next best thing you can do is check the physical connection. That means you need to make sure you have a USB-C cable that works. Use only the USB-C cable that came with the box if you can. If you don’t already have that, check that the replacement works well. If you have another PS5 controller, try connecting it to your PC with the USB-C cable to see if it will work.
If you have a different USB-C cable, try that and see if it lets you use your PS5 controller on your PC. Besides trying a different USB cable, you should also make sure that the USB port on your PC and the Dual Sense controller are both working properly. If you think the ports are dirty, you can use compressed air to clean them. Don’t put anything in the USB port because you might break it by accident.
Check Steam Controller Settings
- Open the Steam app.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Controller.
- Click General Controller Settings.
- Make sure that the PlayStation configuration support option is enabled.
- Connect your PS5 controller to your PC and check the problem.
Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter
- Press the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings menu.
- Go to System.
- Select Troubleshooting.
- Click on Other troubleshooting.
- Click the Run button for Bluetooth.
Factory Reset Your DualSense Controller
- Turn off your PS5. If you don’t have a second controller, press and hold the power button to force the gaming console off.
- Insert a SIM removal tool or paper clip into the small hole on the back of the controller and press the reset button inside for 3-5 seconds.
- Turn on your PS5 and re-register the controller to the console, either wirelessly (if you have another controller) or via USB.
Reasons for PS5 Controller Not Working On PC
Final Words
Many people would say that using a mouse and keyboard is the best way to play games on a PC. The large number of keys on a keyboard does give you a lot of control options, but using a mouse is a much better way to play first-person games and simulation games. But controllers have their own benefits. They are easier to use and are made so that all the buttons and sticks are right where you need them. You can also use a controller with your PC. The Xbox Wireless Controller is often thought to be the best, but you can also connect the PS5 DualSense controller to your PC if you want to. Visit their official website for more information.
