First and foremost, please keep in mind that you can only pick up and throw snowballs in Online mode. In addition, you need always be unarmed in order to pick up a snowball.

If you’re on a PC, press G to pick up the snowball. You can then aim and shoot it at anybody you choose. To pick up snowballs, on the PlayStation, press left on the D-pad, whilst on the Xbox, press right on the D-pad.
