Netflix recently discovered that, after a perpetual string of protests, it is finally allowing users to change autoplay settings on their accounts. Stop Netflix AutoPlay Previews

  • To stop auto-playing views (trailers if you prefer), you’ll need to log in to your Netflix account in a web browser. If you use another device, such as a phone or tablet, you will not be able to access the settings.
  • After logging in, use the menu at the top right corner of the interface and select ‘manage profiles’.
  • Select the profile you want to adjust the settings for (different users may have different autoplay options).
  • Now, uncheck the box under the autoplay controls that says ‘Autoplay views while browsing on all devices’. Click Save when done.

  • Not everyone likes TV shows, or you can keep kids from watching endless episodes of a show. Fortunately, you can disable autoplay in the next episode.
  • The method is the same as the views (above), so go to your account, manage the profiles and uncheck the box that says ‘Auto-play the next episode of a series on all devices’.

  • Open the Netflix website and log in to your account (if you are not already logged in). As before, click on the drop-down menu in the upper right corner, but this time select Account.
  • On the page, in the My Profile section, click on ‘Playback Settings’.
  • Then there are options for ‘Autoplay the next episode of a series on all devices’ and ‘Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices’.
  • Each one must have a mark on it. Click to remove the tag and click Save.
