How to Record iPhone Screen on MAC and Windows PC – Guide

Apple allows you to record iPhone screen on Mac with QuickTime Player on Mac. However, Apple has discontinued QuickTime Player support for the Windows platform. For iPhone owners, if you are looking for a solution to record iPhone screen on Windows, then you need to rely on third-party services. iPhone screen recording is a must-have solution for iPhone app developers and gamers. Let’s assume that you have successfully mirrored your iPhone’s screen to Windows. Now you need to record this and save it as a video file. Before you start, make sure your iPhone screen is mirrored in Windows.

Windows will now start capturing the screen. To stop recording, just click the circle icon on this progress bar. Alternatively, you can also press Windows key + G and press Stop button button in this overlay bar. By default, recordings are saved as .mp4 files in the Videos folder on your computer. Just browse to the folder to view, edit, share or whatever you want to do. The good thing about this Windows 10 feature is that it captures your screen and also records audio.

Steps to Record iPhone Screen on Windows and MAC

  • First, connect up your iPhone device to your Mac system using up the lightning cable. You should see that the connection should be perfect and there should be no issues related to it.
  • Now, after connecting your device to Mac system, launch up QuickTime Player on your Mac. Within this app you will have to go to File -> New Movie Recording. This will now be released up the small recording panel on the screen.
  • After that, you must click on the arrow button which is present in the recording panel next to the red record button. If you have your device connected to Mac, you can see your device listed in the list that appears after clicking the arrow button. Just select your device name mentioned in Camera list options.
  • This will now mirror your device’s screen to your Mac screen and to record your Mac screen you will have to click on record button. Once the recording starts on your iPhone, remember that you should not disconnect your device from your Mac unless it removes the connection and therefore your recording is aborted.

    • Using Windows/Mac (Wireless Method)

  • Install the computer app called Lonely Screen on your PC and you can find the Windows and Mac version of this app. After installing the app, launch it up on your PC system.
  • Now on your iPhone, you will have to launch AirPlay Mirroring through the device control center options. And in the search options you will have to select up the “Lonely Screen”. This will mirror iPhone screen to computer wirelessly.
  • Finally, you will only have to pull the record button option on the computer screen that is done by clicking on the arrow at the bottom of the screen. If you don’t record your iPhone mirrored screen, just click the Record button Button hence it appears. You can also abort screen recording by clicking on this button again, and the video you took will be automatically saved in the designated folders (ie Movies/Videos).

    • Using Apowersoft (Windows)

  • First of all, make sure your iPhone and PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Now on your iPhone, swipe up from the bottom to access the Control Center. In Control Center, tap on ‘AirPlay’ if using iOS devices earlier than iOS 10. For iOS 10 and above, tap on ‘Airplay Mirroring’ option in Control Center.
  • Once done, Airplay will show the mirroring devices available on the Wi-Fi network. Select the device and enable the ‘Mirroring’ option.
  • Now to record iPhone screen, tap on ‘Start Recording’ button button as shown in the screenshot.
