How to Recover Deleted Files Using New Windows Recovery Tool – Guide
Microsoft has recently released Windows File Recovery Tool, an application that helps its users on Windows 10 operating system to recover deleted files and documents. Available from the Windows Apps Store, the tool is a command-line application that allows users to recover deleted files and documents from local hard drives, flash drives, and SD cards. Here’s everything you need to know about the app and how it works: Normal mode is designed to recover recently deleted files. It supports drives formatted with NTFS partitions – typically hard drives, solid state drives, external hard drives, USB drives and flash drives with more than 4GB of space. This mode is fast, but it may not find the desired file.
The extensive mode is designed to recover files deleted some time ago, after reformatting the drive or if the hard drive itself has been damaged. Advanced mode supports NTFS, FAT and exeats partitions. This mode takes longer to scan your hard drive, but has a better chance of locating the deleted file. However, as it is a command-line application, it does not support retrieving files from cloud storage and network storage drives.
