How to set up Dial-In Conference with Microsoft Teams – Guide
Microsoft recently announced a new feature for its unified communications platform, Teams. Once officially launched, Teams customers using direct routing for their telephony will be able to make PSTN calls to Teams meetings through direct routing. Currently, the normal Teams user phone calls using Microsoft phone System and direct routing implemented through a third-party provider, such as pure IP, is routed to Teams through direct routing session edge controllers (SBC) configured in the tenant.
However, if that user also has an Audio Conferencing license, when sending invitations to Teams meetings or creating ad hoc meetings, participants receive a list of phone numbers they can use to dial if they don’t want to use the Teams client. During these Teams meetings, all incoming PSTN calls from participants using the phone numbers to dial or leave the meeting to add a new participant are routed through Microsoft and not through direct routing SBCs. Therefore, these calls may incur charges from Microsoft, resulting in a phone system.
