How to Setup and Use Paytm – Guide

Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the demonetization of the 500 and 1,000 rupee notes, Paytm and other mobile portfolios have experienced tremendous growth. Lack of cash and long lines have made digital wallets a necessity for ordinary citizens – at least those with smartphones – and brought Paytm to the minds of users.

Paytm claims to have over 150 million users, making it the largest online payment platform in the country. Still, there are many more people in India who still don’t use Paytm and its digital wallet.   • Paytm Wallet: In Paytm Wallet you can add money and you can use it anywhere for payment transactions using your Qr code feature or using your mobile number.
  • Paytm Mall: The second is Paytm Mall, using this feature you can shop online through Paytm.
  • Paytm Bank: The third is Paytm Payment Bank, you can use this feature to open an account, and then you will receive a debit card, checkbook and FD.

    • How to create a Paytm account

  • If you have already created a Paytm account, then you need to click on “Login to Paytm”. If you want to create a new account, click on “Create a new account”.
  • Enter your permanent mobile number and then click “Proceed safely”. After that, you will receive an OTP to verify your number.
  • Enter your OTP and click “Proceed safely”. Then Paytm will check and ask for permission to “allow Paytm to do and manage phone calls?”.
  • Click on the “Allow” button button. You have now successfully created your Paytm account. Congratulations!!

    • How to activate Paytm wallet

    Now your account has been created in Paytm. Just click on the tree lines in the upper left corner and then click on your “phone number”. Then you will be able to see your QR code. To use the QR code, you need to activate your wallet. Then click the “Activate now” button button.

    Paytm will then redirect you to a page where you will be asked to submit any documents as per the RBI guidelines. For example, Pan Card, passport, voter registration card, driving license or NREGA employment card. Select any of the valid IDs above and enter your unique number.

    KYC types

    Your identity will now be transmitted to Paytm. Before getting into the details, I want to say that there are two types of KYC at Paytm. The first is “MINI KYC” that we just made, and the second is “FULL KYC”. For full KYC, you need to go to the Paytm store that you can find near your home.

    How to use Paytm wallet

  • Click on “Add Money”
  • Click on “Paytm Wallet”
  • Enter the amount
  • Click “Proceed to add money”
  • Select any of the options like “Credit Card”, “Net Banking”, “BHIM UPI” or “Debit Card” to add money to your Paytm Wallet
  • To add money from your debit card, add your debit card number, CVV code and expiry date and click “Pay securely”
  • You will now receive an OTP from your bank. Enter the OTP number and click the “Send” button button.
  • The money will finally be added to your Paytm wallet
  • To check your Paytm wallet balance, click on “Passbook”
  • There is one more option in the menu called “Pay”. By clicking this option, you can use QR codes to scan to pay your bill payments.
  • If you want to send money through a mobile number, just enter the mobile number of the person who has a Paytm account and then click on “Continue” to make the payment
  • There are many options on Paytm. How can you recharge your mobile number, book a movie ticket, you can pay your electricity bill, DTH, shopping and much more.

    • How to Use Paytm bank

  • Click to Paytm Bank, then set your Paytm Payments Bank password
  • Once you set the password, you will have an option to “Add a candidate to your bank account”
  • If you want to add it now, you can add it or add it later too. Click the checkmarks and then click “Continue” to continue.
  • Wait awhile. To open a Paytm Bank account, you must complete your full KYC.
  • When your KYC is complete, your Paytm Bank account will be opened automatically.
  • Your mobile number will be your account number. Here you will also receive a debit card.
