How to Take screenshots on MacBook
Current versions (Mojave and Catalina) of macOS come with a Screenshot application, which can be accessed by pressing Shift-Command (⌘) -5.
You will get a command bar that offers several options. You can take a screenshot of the screen, a window, or a specific selection; you can also record a video of all or part of your screen. There is an “Options” button which lets you choose where you want to save your screenshot, and you can also set a small delay. When you’re ready, click “Capture” button at the far right of the command bar.
If you haven’t upgraded to Mojave or Catalina, you can still save screenshots on your desktop as PNG files.
