Get the app

First, make sure you’ve downloaded the Alexa app on your Android or iOS device (and that it’s the latest version). You will need two different Echo devices for Drop In to work: With the app, you can join other Echo devices, but you cannot receive a Drop In call through the app.

After downloading and launching the app, you should be asked to set up Alexa Calls and Messages. If not, tap the speech bubble at the bottom of the screen to sign up and fill in your contact information.

Enable Drop In on Devices

The entrance feature may be disabled in the app, so you may need to choose to use it. In the Echo Device Settings, look for the section that says Communications and select it. The communications section will have a receiving section. Make sure Drop In is enabled. You can select it and choose between On, Off and My family only.
