Google Assistant can be very useful when it comes to hands-free control, but the virtual assistant has other nifty things features that many users may not be aware of. One of them is “Routines”, which allows users to multi-task via Google Assistant with a single command. This means that users can use the pre-installed voice commands or even create new commands with specific tasks. For example, if you say “Ok Google, good morning,” Assistant can turn on the lights, tell you about the weather, play music or news, and more. Routines help you get the most out of Google Assistant because they can automate multiple actions with a single command. Google offers six pre-built routines that you can customize to your liking.
You can also create fully customized routines that trigger automatically or with specific phrases. Google Assistant routines work phones, tablets and smart speakers like Nest Audio or Nest Hub. The six predefined Wizard routines are enabled by default. On Android, you can view and edit them by launching Assistant, tapping the menu icon in the lower left corner, tapping your profile picture, scrolling down and selecting Routines. iOS users can access the same menu by downloading the Google Assistant app and tapping their profile picture.
