The always-on display on iPhone 14 Pro doesn’t have to be on all the time. Luckily, his latest iOS 16.2 beta test allows users to hide wallpaper and notifications from the controversial features.

The Display & Brightness menu in the Settings app shows these changes in the form of three new toggle options. The always-on setting is on by default and will darken your wallpaper if you leave your iPhone 14 Pro alone.
iOS 16.2 has two more settings: Show Wallpaper and Show Notifications. You can turn both off, or leave one on and turn the other off. When turned off, when the phone is locked or idle, the lock screen will only show a black wallpaper with a clock and widgets.
