The Moto G Pure is one of the few phones that works so well you forget you’re using a cheap one. Yes, Motorola had to make some sacrifices to make this phone so cheap, but it still has good build quality, a long battery life, and good cameras for the price.
The Moto G Pure is designed to be simple and useful. It has a blue back panel with a textured pattern that feels nice to the touch and doesn’t get scratched or dirty easily. The phone is 6.6 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and 0.3 inches thick. It weighs 6.6 ounces and is easy to hold with one hand.
[content-egg-block template=offers_logo hide=price]At the top of the 6.5-inch, 1,600-by-720-pixel LCD, there is a teardrop-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera. At the bottom, there is a large bezel. The screen is bright and clear, and the colours are very true. However, it has a low resolution, so you will see some pixels. Even so, it’s fine as long as you don’t hold the screen right up to your face and look at it closely.
There aren’t any anti-reflective coatings, so the best way to look at the screen is straight on. On the top of the phone are a headphone jack and a microphone. On the bottom edge are a speaker, a USB-C charging port, and a second microphone. On the left is a slot for the SIM card or microSD card. On the right is a volume rocker and a textured power button. The buttons are small, but they are easy to feel and click when you press them.
Each picture taken with the 13MP main camera is pretty clear. Photos have muted colours, but they are not boring. And as long as there is enough light, it can take pictures that look good. When the shutter button is pressed, the phone has trouble actually taking a picture. This is a big problem. The front-facing camera is also pretty clear. Surprisingly, it even brings out smaller details like individual hairs, which can often become blurry.
The Moto G Pure’s battery life is by far its best feature, even more so than its low price. Motorola knows how to make its devices last as long as possible, especially its cheaper phones. The Moto G Pure will soon join a number of other Motorola phones on our list of the best phones for battery life. The Moto G Pure has a 4,000 mAh battery, which isn’t as big as the batteries in other G Series phones.
