The fourth generation of the JBL Clip is the JBL Clip 4. As the name suggests, it has a carabiner hook built in so you can ‘clip’ it to your bag or backpack while you’re out and about. It looks a little different from the other Clip speakers because it has a more square shape. Overall, it’s small and easy to carry, and it has an IP67 rating for protection against dust and water so you can listen to your favorite music outside.

Where to get JBL Clip 4 Portable Bluetooth Speaker?
This speaker is easy to set up and use right out of the box. With a power light, sound cues for pairing and power, and a built-in clip, there isn’t much you need to read about. The only thing that seems to be hidden is the fact that you can skip songs by clicking the play button twice. This is perfect for when a bad song comes on while you’re jamming out in the shower. But you can’t go back to a previous song, so skip wisely!
Hearing the Clip 4 won’t blow anyone’s mind. At medium volumes, it has a decently rich sound. The lows are strong, and the highs are clear and well-defined. However, when we turn up the volume, the bass gets mushy and drowns out the highs, which is a common problem with smaller speakers. The wow factor goes up a lot when you listen to this tiny speaker while looking at it, because it sounds great when you realize how small and portable it is.
For how small it is, this speaker has a very impressive maximum volume and range. At 75% of the maximum volume, we measured a respectable 83.4 decibels from 5 feet away. However, this quickly drops to 64.7 decibels at 30 feet. Obviously, the Clip 4 is better for a world after a pandemic, when we can all be a little closer. If there are less than 8 people on the picnic blanket, you’ll probably be happy. We recommend something bigger with more sound volume for a more open space.
The speaker has an IP67 rating, which means it can be submerged in water up to one metre deep and doesn’t let dust in. As for the dust rating, we used the speaker a lot on the ground and never had any problems with mud or dirt getting inside. When it did get dirty or muddy on the outside, we could wipe it off with a wet cloth.
