In this article we will show you how to Disable Screenshot Thumbnail Previews. When you take a screenshot on your iPhone, iPad and Mac, macOS shows a small version of it in the bottom-right part of the screen. This thumbnail shows up on the screen for a few seconds before it is saved to the usual location.
As you might expect, this thumbnail sample makes you wait. So, if you need to take multiple pictures right after each other, you have to wait for the preview thumbnails to go away so they don’t show up in the next screenshots. When you take a photo on your iPhone, a small preview of the image shows up in the bottom-left corner.
This is helpful, but it can also be a pain. There is a way to get around the thumbnail peek, which is good news. If your iPhone is running iOS 16 or later, the Shortcuts app now has a “Take Screenshot” option. You can also go to the official Apple support site to know more information about this.
How to Disable Screenshot Thumbnail Previews on iPhone, iPad
- Take a screenshot as usual in iOS (by pressing the Home button and Power button concurrently, except for iPhone, iPad, instead use Power + Volume Up)

- You can repeat this as many times as you need to dismiss the screenshot previews.
- Remember, if you tap on the screenshot preview it will open into markup instead of dismissing. To hide the screenshot preview you have to swipe it away off the left of the screen.
