How to create Twitter Spaces on a PC – Guide

Twitter recently launched its audio chat rooms called Spaces and is now available to both mobile and desktop browsers. If you have more than 600 Twitter followers, now is the time to host a space. The function is available in the app and accessible to Android users. All spaces are public and anyone can enter any space as a listener. When you create a space or speak at one of the events, your followers can see you at the top of your timeline. Users can also send invitations to people who request them to join a Space.

How to enter Spaces

  • Spaces, Twitter’s live audio chat app, is now available on the desktop and mobile web browsers, but still does not allow users to host rooms on the web. However, you can join the audio rooms. You can tap your profile picture under “Fleet”, scroll to the far right and tap the spaces. This allows a user to participate as a listener, including people who don’t follow you because Spaces are public.
  • In addition, listeners can be invited directly to a space by sending them a link to the space via DM, tweeting a link, or sharing a link elsewhere. Up for 11 people (including the host) can speak in the space, while creating a new space, you can click on the option “Name your Space” and “Start your Space”. A user can also “schedule” space discussions for later. You can also choose the date and time you want Space to activate.

  • In the iPhone or Android web browser, open Twitter
  • Tap your profile picture in the top left corner
  • Scroll to the far right, now tap on ‘Spaces’.
  • Choose the audio room audience by selecting Everyone, People you follow, or Only people you invite to speak.
  • Then tap ‘Start Your Space’.
  • You can now add up to 10 speakers to your Space.
  • Twitter Space starts up and you can now add a description for your Space.
