Customize the toolbar
- In the Safari app
on your Mac, choose View > Customize Toolbar.
- Do the following:
- Change toolbar items: Add, remove and rearrange toolbar items by dragging them. For example, you can add an iCloud Tabs button which shows a list of webpages open on your other devices that have Safari enabled in iCloud preferences.
- Remove an item from the toolbar: Hold down the Command key and drag the item off the toolbar.
- Click Done.
Customize the tab bar
- In the Safari app
on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences and click Tabs.
- Choose where to place the guides.
- Compact: guides move up to the toolbar. The active tab is the Smart Search field.
- Detach: Tabs remain on the tab bar, below the toolbar.
To customize Safari further, choose Safari > Preferences and change the options.
