Check if the email server is down

  • Before we start troubleshooting, please check the status email server. If you use iCloud Mail, check Apple’s system status website and make sure the server is up and running.
  • And if you are using any other email provider, visit the provider’s website. Please contact your provider or system administrator if you are unable to login through your browser. Otherwise, go to the next solution.

    • Check Mail Fetch Settings

  • Open Settings → Mail → Accounts.

  • Here, make sure Automatically is selected.

    • Note your notification settings

  • Open Settings → Notifications.
  • Select the Mail app or the third-party app you use.
  • Here, enable Allow Notifications and Urgent Notifications if you haven’t already done so.

    • Enable mobile data for the Mail app

  • Go to Settings → Mobile Dice.
  • Scroll down to the Mail app or third-party app and make sure it’s turned on.

    • Check your iPhone storage

  • If the iPhone storage is full to the brim, you will not be able to receive new emails on iPhone. Go to Settings → General → iPhone Storage to check available space. Likewise, delete some data from your device.
  • Also, compressed iCloud storage can prevent you from sending or receiving emails. So check your status too; go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud is free up some storage if needed.

    • Remove the email account and set it up again

  • Open Settings → Mail.
  • Tap Accounts and select the problematic email account.
  • Tap Delete Account → Delete from My iPhone to confirm.

    • Reset all settings

  • Open Settings → General → Transfer and reset iPhone.
  • Tap Reset and select Reset all settings.
  • Enter the password and tap Reset all settings to confirm the action.
