Xiaomi has now entered the home automation segment in India and plans to revolutionize the market here as well. With the introduction of Mi Home Safety Camera 360°, Xiaomi plans to make surveillance cameras cheaper so that every common citizen can protect their property with the least possible investment. For starters, it’s a tiny wireless camera which can be managed directly on your smartphone via Mi Home application. If you have already purchased one, follow these steps to connect and install MI Security Camera 360 on phone.

  • First of all, you need to download and install Mi Home app on your smartphone. You can download it for Android and iOS.
  • Then open the app and sign in with your Mi account credentials. You can login by email or mobile number or you can sign up with the same if you do not have a Mi account. When setting up the app, be sure to set the region to India (recommended).
  • On the next screen, tap “+” (Add device) button provided in the upper right corner. The app will now automatically search for your camera and display the same in the ‘Nearby devices’ section.
  • Now you need to reset the camera. To do the same, connect the camera to an energy source, and the camera will automatically calibrate itself rotating on both axes. After that, press and hold the “Reset” button button given in the camerabase of. You will see an orange light on the LED next to the lens.
  • Once the process is complete, tap ‘Next’ and select your WiFi home network from. The app will now provide a QR code that needs to be read via Mi Home Safety Camera 360°.
  • Shoot your phoneo brightness at maximum level and keep it with the QR code provided at about 15cms from Mi Security Camera 360°. Once successfully scanned, you will hear a notification sound from the camera. If not, wait a few more seconds and click ‘I heard scanned successfully’.
  • Now comes the final step. Here, you need to choose a name for your camera, followed by the space selection for the device.
