How to Share Google Forms With Others – Guide

Google Forms, powered by Google, is a tool that can help people collect information from others through a personalized search. Google Forms can be useful if one wants to manage event registrations, create a quick quiz, whip up a quick poll, collecting email addresses for a newsletter, and much more. Your logo or photo may be used on Google Forms and the Google Forms technology will choose just the right colors to fill out this unique form.

Otherwise, people can also choose from a set of selected themes to set the tone. But if you use Google Forms and want to submit a Google Form for others to edit, there are a few simple steps you need to follow.

How to share a Google Form with respondents

  • Open your Google Form.
  • Click on “SEND” button in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • If you want to email the form, enter the email addresses of the people you want to fill in the form in the pop-up window. You can also customize the email subject line, the message, and whether or not to include the form in the email.
  • To share a link to the form, click on the link icon in the center of the windowup window. This provides a link that you can copy and send to people.
  • Google URLs tend to be long. If you are unable to submit the link as a hyperlink, click the box next to “Shorten URL”. Copy this URL to share this form with anyone.
  • If you want to embed the form on a website, click the embed icon to the right of the pop-up window. Copy the embed code and paste it on your website. You can adjust the size of your form by editing the width and height in this window. Note: if you are using WordPress, paste this HTML code into your text editor, not your visual editor.
  • You can also share your form on Facebook or Twitter using the sharing icons on the right side of the popup window.

    • How to make a Google Form public or share it with contributors

    If you want others to see the responses and edit the form, you can share it with contributors.

  • On your Google Form, click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of the screen. A menu will appear.
  • Choose “Add Collaborators”. A window will appear up. The window includes a share link, but you need to add someone as a contributor before that person can access the link. You can send email invitations to people just as you would with Google Docs.
  • To make the form public, click on the word “Change…” in the middle of the window. A new window will appear. Your form’s default setting will be set to private, so it can only be shared with specific people. However, you can change this so that anyone with a link can collaborate. You can also make the form public on the web.
  • When you are finished adding collaborators, click on the blue “Save” button button at the bottom left of the window to close it.
