How to start Huddle on Slack – Guide
Slack is a new regenerated way for teammates to have audio conversations informally, just as they would in an offline office. This introduced users to Slack Huddles. A Slack user can start or join a Huddle with just a button or click of a button.
Slack Huddles Allow up for 50 participants and can be started on channels or DMs. All members and guests in a workspace are allowed to access this feature. To let you know that Huddle is only available to companies with paid plans. Features such as scheduling messages in Slack, are available to users free of charge.
How to start a huddle on the desktop Slack:
- open slack
- Select the channel or direct message you want to start the conversation on
- Select the circle next to the headphones in the lower left corner. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut: command, shift, four. You may have to give Slack permission to access your microphone. The blue headset icon indicates that you have successfully started a conversation.
- To invite people to the conversation, select the person icon and search for who you want to invite.
- To exit the huddle, select the headset icon
How to start a conversation in the Slack app:
- open slack
- Select the channel or direct message you want to start the conversation on
- Tap the ring icon in the upper right corner
- To invite people to the conversation, tap the gray circle in the middle. Then search for the user you want to invite and tap “Invite”.
- Tap the red circle to exit the huddle
