How to Uninstall Programs With the Help of Revo Uninstaller – Guide

Revo Uninstaller is an uninstaller for Microsoft Windows. It uninstalls programs and additionally removes any Windows files and registry entries left behind by the program’s uninstaller or Windows uninstall function. Revo Uninstaller first runs the selected program’s built-in uninstaller, then searches for and removes associated files and registry entries that the uninstaller may not have removed from the user’s drive.

How to Uninstall an app with Revo Uninstaller Pro

To uninstall an application, launch Revo Uninstaller Pro and click on the Windows application button on the left side. Find the unwanted app in the list, select it and click on the Uninstall button button in the upper left corner.

Revo Uninstaller Pro will present an overview window with basic information about the application and the option to enable or disable creating a system restore point and a full registry backup for that particular uninstall. If you prefer a System Restore Point and/or a full registry backup to be/not created, uncheck the corresponding option before clicking Continue.

Revo Uninstaller Pro will attempt to create the selected backups and analyze the application’s uninstall information.

It will then proceed to launch the app’s built-in uninstaller. It should appear on the screen as a newly created window for a short time and should disappear on its own. No user interaction is required.

Once the app’s built-in uninstaller is complete, Revo Uninstaller Pro will allow you to check for leftovers by clicking Scan.

The scan time depends on your computer hardware, the overall number and type of apps you have installed, and the exact app you are uninstalling.

After the scan is complete, you will see a list of remaining registry entries.

Just select the leftovers you want to delete and click the Delete button button. In most cases it should be safe to directly select all items (by clicking the Select All button button), however, we still recommend that you review items before selecting them.

When selecting registry leftovers for deletion, remember that only bold entries will actually be deleted. All other entries (those not in bold and those in red) are displayed for information only, so users can get a better idea of where the bolded entries are located in the Registry.

With the deletion of leftovers, the uninstall process is complete and the application is removed from your computer.

For your security, by default, the remaining registry entries are supported up before deletion. Which are able to restore any erroneously deleted data later if necessary.
