This article will show you how to manage camera and microphone permissions. If you’re using the camera or microphone for an app, you’ll see a sign at the top of your screen. You can also see what app is using that tool right now and what app used it most recently. We want to show you how to use these helpful changes to your device’s security on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
There are many reasons why you might want to give or refuse an app access to your iPhone or iPad’s camera or microphone, but it may not be obvious how to do this. This is how you can do it. When you open an app that needs access to your camera or microphone for the first time, you’ll get a pop-up request that sets the usual permissions.
If you give permission, that app will always be able to use your devices. If you say no, the app won’t be able to view it. If you agree, the app will always be able to do that. If you tap “Don’t Allow,” the app won’t ask for this permission again. This keeps it from asking for permission to do something you don’t want it to do over and over again.

- Open Settings, then swipe down and tap Privacy
