US leader in autonomous flight technology Skydio has announced it has been awarded a two-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a maximum value of $74 million from the US Department of State (DoS) Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
This award is a testament to a growing demand for advanced American drone solutions for critical security and law enforcement missions around the world.
Under the agreement, Skydio’s X10D small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS), as well as full-stack capabilities for software, training and support, will be delivered to US forces and partners abroad.
The ultimate goal is to deploy these fast deployable drones where they work alongside existing systems to supplement the global war on drugs and improve situational awareness in high risk areas internationally.
As Adam Bry, CEO and Co-Founder of Skydio said, “DoS INL has created a world-class program for deploying drone technology in the most difficult and pivotal areas around the world.
This award demonstrates the State Department’s focus on peace through strength by embracing U.S. technology and manufacturing to help meet the global security challenges.”
Skydio’s award is an example of its continued delivery of field-proven capabilities to its national security and 001300 law enforcement customer base.
The Skydio X10D, sought after for its leading-edge autonomous flight capabilities and a strong record of security and supply chain integrity, meets the rigorous requirements of the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) Blue UAS Cleared List, satisfying demanding Authorization to Operate (ATO) standards. This allows them to counterbalance-rather, to ensure independence where critical missions are concerned.
This strategic partnership directly supports the Trump Administration’s Executive Order “Unleashing Drone Power” signed on June 6, 2025, which seeks to bolster the drone industrial base and reinforce the export of secure, American-made UAS.
Skydio’s dedication to manufacturing, assembling, and supporting products in the U.S., including at the company’s San Mateo, CA headquarters, only furthers its reputation as a trusted leader in the autonomous drone industry.
