Anker PowerConf C200: Design
With dimensions of 2.4 x 2 x 1.6 inches and a weight of 2.9 ounces, the Anker PowerConf C200 is slightly (but obviously) lighter than the Logitech C920s Pro HD Webcam, which weighs 5.7 ounces and can be bought from a number of online stores for about the same price. The square shape is very different from Logitech’s rectangular webcams with curved edges, but I found it easy to place the C200 on my laptop or an external monitor while trying it.
The Logitech C920s has a privacy shutter that can be removed and flipped up when you want to pick your nose. The C200, on the other hand, has a moving privacy shutter built right into the webcam, which is just a better design. The bottom of the C200 has a threading for a tripod, but you can also just set it down on your desk and change the angle of view from there.
Video and Audio Quality
The C200 as a whole has one small problem that will be fixed soon. We put the C200 on top of my desktop monitor, opened Google Meet for an afternoon meeting, and the picture was perfect. The colours were true to life, and the image was clearer and sharper than my newly ironed Calvin Klein button-down shirt. That was in my office, which had ring lights and curtains and was generally lit by ring lights.
After my meeting, we changed my shirt and used the Microsoft camera app to take a few shots. From that, we got some nice shots. That was the simple part. After that, we called my daughter on Zoom because we wanted to talk to her before she called me to tell me that we were almost paid. She said right away that she loved the video quality of the Anker webcam. Even though we turned off the lights, she didn’t notice that it was hard to see at all, and neither did we. There was no pixelation or fading. You can buy this webcam from its official website
Anker PowerConf C200: Performance
Those numbers mean that the performance is also very good. The video looks clear and sharp, and the webcam works well even when there isn’t much light. It also changes quickly, in a second or two, when the light changes. The autofocus can sometimes get stuck, but most of the time it works fine. In other words, you won’t have any trouble being seen on your next video talk.
The Anker PowerConf C200 also has two microphones and uses AI to block out noise. You can also choose 180-degree or 90-degree audio capture if you want to cut out nearby background noises and focus on what you’re saying. In our tests, this didn’t seem to make much of a difference, but the mics did a good job of picking up what we were saying and sending it clearly.
Price and availability
Several webcam companies now make 4K webcams or 4K conference cams, but in most cases, like with the Nexigo N970P, Meeting Owl Pro, and Coolpo AI-Huddle, you’ll need to spend between $200 and nearly $1,000 to get high-quality, wide-angle, color-accurate video and pictures. If you have a small business or a family on a tight budget, this can be too expensive and hard to do.
Final Words
Anker’s PowerConf C200 is the webcam best suited for professional use that comes with the most affordable price tag. It is as cheerful as it is modest, and based on what we have seen so far, it crams a significant amount of value into a relatively little box. The PowerConf C200 is also more affordable than other HD webcams available on the market today, such as the Logitech C930e, which has a lower resolution (1080p) and costs more ($130), but operates just as well in low light and comes in a more compact form than the PowerConf C200 does. The PowerConf C200 costs $70.
