The Corsair MP600 Pro LPX is a high-end PCIe 4.0 solid-state drive that is unremarkable, performs poorly, and is inefficient in its operation. Even if it maintains a cool temperature and seems like it will work well in a PlayStation 5, its price leaves something to be desired, and this prevents it from being counted among the most effective solid-state drives for the PlayStation 5.
Although Corsair provides software support and a reasonable guarantee, the company also makes several other SKUs that perform the same functions as this drive but do it more effectively. Design and Functionality
The MP600 Pro LPX comes with a beautiful heatsink already attached, adding to the device’s overall sleek and modern appearance. In this regard, the aluminum heat spreader is sleek and understated. You may just insert the SSD into the PS5’s storage expansion bay without the need for a separate heatsink.
The process was simple. Simply fit the drive into the expansion bay after removing the console’s faceplate and unscrewing its protective plate. Corsair MP600 Pro LPX SSD: Easy Install
The first step in the review process was to put the 2TB version of the SSD into the PS5. Even though I’ve been building computer for a long time, it still makes me nervous to put a small, expensive part inside a system. But as long as you pay attention, installation should go easily.
You take off the PS5’s bottom panel, open the SSD cover, take out the mounting screw, push the SSD into place, and then put the mounting screw back in to hold the SSD in place.
Corsair MP600 Pro LPX SSD: Performance
The 1TB version is the one we are looking at. The NVMe SSD has a 2280 format and is made up of 176 layers of NAND Micron 3D TLC memory, a Phison PS5018-D processor, and as a cache, 1GB of DRAM memory for every 1TB of storage. The Corsair MP600 Pro LPX is also compatible with PCIe Gen 3, but it will only work at the speeds of Gen 3.
On Windows, we have 931GB of free room after formatting the drive. Tests showed that the Corsair MP600 Pro LPX worked very well. This SSD makes it incredibly fast to move and read files, start the computer, and load games.
Final Words
The MSI Stealth 15M is hard to compare to similar competitors because it beat the RTX 3070 Asus TUF Dash F15 in some tests, even though it has an RTX 3060. But it costs more than that competitor, even though its hardware is actually weaker. Even though it’s used differently, it’s hard to see why you’d buy an RTX 3060 laptop instead of a cheaper RTX 3070 laptop, especially since the Stealth 15M doesn’t always have better speed.
