The Inspiron brand, which symbolizes Dell’s selection of low- to mid-priced computers, has produced a variety of results during the course of the company’s history. For instance, one of the most recent pieces of hardware that we tested was the 2022 Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1, and we discovered that using it resulted in a subpar experience due to the device’s subpar display as well as its short battery life. This is in comparison to earlier iterations of the product, some of which have made it onto our list of the best budget laptops and the best 2-in-1s.
Dell has just unveiled a brand new member of the Inspiron range, which promises to maintain the brand’s position as a contender for providing customers with the most effective and cost-effective laptops available. The Inspiron Plus takes what customers have appreciated most about the Inspiron brand and aims to improve upon previous iterations to provide a more alluring mainstream laptop. We had a look at the Inspiron 14 Plus, which is one of the two new Plus models Dell has released; the other is a 16-inch variant. Because of its significantly improved display and speedier components, this Inspiron model is a significant upgrade from the base model.

Design and Build Quality

The aluminum chassis and low profile of the Inspiron 14 Plus, together with the refined design aspects of the trackpad and keyboard, make this laptop seem like a high-end product when you use it. Although the majority of the surface of the laptop has a semi-gloss finish, the keyboard has a matte finish and is recessed into a surface that is entirely matte.
It is easy to type on, similar to the keyboards seen on many other Dell laptops, such as the XPS 13 from Dell. My hands don’t get cramped up since the keys are springy without being overly rigid, and the distance between them is exactly great. The touchpad is significantly bigger than my hand, has a silky smooth surface. You can buy this laptop from its official website
Dell Inspiron 14 Plus: Display and Ports
The brightness of the Inspiron 14 Plus’s display, which is rated for 300 nits, was really greater by more than 50 nits. The MacBook Air’s 500-nit display is significantly brighter, but at 350 nits, the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus is on pace with the more expensive Dell XPS 13 Plus and the Asus Zenbook 13 OLED.
The laptop has a wide color gamut, supporting the whole RGB spectrum. (Budget computers sometimes compromise on this, covering at most 70% of the sRGB color space.) The display’s combination of high brightness with a resolution of 2.2K results in an exceptionally clear and vivid image. The matte screen’s muted blacks, however, may be problematic for nighttime and other low-light settings.
Keyboard and Touchpad

The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus has a keyboard that is well-lit and simple to type on. The keyboard also has a number pad. Typing is made simple and accurate as a result of the keys being adequately spaced apart and having a sufficient amount of travel. In addition to being spacious and responsive, the touchpad on the laptop can accommodate the simultaneous usage of multiple fingers.
Dell Inspiron 14 Plus: Performance
In balanced mode, the Inspiron 14 Plus scored 569, while in performance mode, it reached 627. That’s a good score for novice creators and almost twice as fast as comparable machines with Iris Xe graphics.
The effectiveness of the whole was a plus. The Inspiron 14 Plus can multitask efficiently and run creative software as necessary. We have not yet seen a better performing 14-inch laptop than this one equipped with the Core i7-12700H.
Dell Inspiron 14 Plus: Battery Life
The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus is a model of laptop that comes in a variety of configurations and specs. The battery life can vary based on the configuration and how often the laptop is used. But Dell says that the Inspiron 14 Plus can run on a single charge for up to 10 hours.
It’s important to remember that the real battery life can change based on things like the apps being used, the brightness settings of the screen, the power management settings, and the load on the system. Running more demanding jobs or apps can use more power and shorten the life of the battery.
Price and availability
Today, there aren’t many laptops like the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus. Most laptops in this price range are made with either power or flexibility in mind, and laptops that have both are much more expensive. For example, at full price, the Acer Swift X has a slightly slower processor, a slightly better graphics card, and a nine-hour battery life. It costs less than $1,000. If you wait for a sale, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is a great all-around computer with good graphics performance, a battery life of nine hours, and a sleek design. At full price, it costs $1,500 or more, but we’ve seen it go for as little as $1,100.
Final Words
The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus is an affordable mid-range laptop that offers solid performance and a wide range of useful features. The 11th-generation Intel Core processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage space are all included. There’s a 14-inch screen, Full HD resolution, backlighting, and a fingerprint reader on this laptop.
The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus is a stylish and up-to-date laptop. The lightweight aluminum body conceals a surprisingly sturdy structure. The laptop’s light weight also makes it convenient to carry along. If you need a laptop that won’t break the bank but will still get the job done, consider the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus.
