The GameSir X2 Pro tries to solve the biggest problem we and, we are sure, a lot of other mobile gamers have had for a very, very long time: our fingers are always in the way. When the X2 Pro is clamped to the outside of a phone and linked via USB-C, it becomes a bit like a Switch controller and a bit like a Steam Deck that can be used right away.
You can start up compatible games, like the mobile gallery on your Xbox Game Pass, and instead of your thumb and fingers covering up 80% of what you kind of sort of really need to see to explore and control properly, you now have a controller with real buttons and joysticks. This controller works with Android phones, so it won’t replace your Switch controller (we have a list of the best Switch controllers) or your iPad controller. It works by plugging and clamping your phone into the extendable bridge on the X2 Pro.

GameSir X2 Pro: Connectivity and Support

GameSir made the X2 Pro so that it is easy to connect to Android devices through USB-C. There’s no sign of any Lightning or Bluetooth models. Even though the last one isn’t a big loss because the tools take a little longer to respond. As we said above, the fact that that socket is on a 50-degree hinge makes it so much easier to plug your phone into it.
Also, the fact that it can hold phones up to 6.5 inches long means that you can use monster phones like the ZTE Axon 40 5G and RedMagic 7 Pro with no problems at all. Some things have changed, but others, for better or worse, have stayed the same. First, there’s not much help for the case besides cheap or very thin covers. The bottom of your phone needs to be mostly open for the USB-C link to work. People who are always dropping their phones will need to be careful. Second, it doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, it has a USB-C port for charging and audio passthrough.
GameSir X2 Pro: Performance

With the GameSir App, you can easily discover the newest and most popular games across different platforms thanks to the ability to personalize and map the controller settings. Despite their little size, the analog sticks are quick and sensitive. The convex and concave rubberized thumbstick caps included with the X2 Pro are much welcome improvements. If you prefer a different button arrangement on the front, you can quickly swap it out owing to a special magnetic system.
Just below the left thumbstick is a low-travel, clicky D-Pad that has a different feel than the regular Xbox D-Pad but is nonetheless very responsive. While the GameSir X2 Pro controller’s textured grip and other ergonomic improvements are nice, the small size of some of the buttons might make it hard to operate for extended periods of time.
GameSir X2 Pro: Price and Availability
The standard price for the GameSir X2 Pro is $79/£65, however there are deals to be had every so often. This is in line with what you’d expect to pay for a mobile game controller, and while it doesn’t offer quite the same value-for-money as the G7 Xbox/PC controller, I still think it’s a good buy for what you get.
Final Words
The X2 Pro is a great choice for people who want to play Xbox games on the go, whether they want to stream them from a home machine or look through the Xbox Game Pass library. You’ll feel right at home on the X2 Pro because it has real Xbox buttons and a layout you’re used to. It feels great for almost any type of game thanks to the fact that the back buttons can be changed and the face buttons can be switched out. But its odd shape and lack of ergonomics make it better for short bursts of games than for longer ones.

Questions and Answers
Turn the joysticks to their farthest positions and hold for three seconds. Then, three times, slowly push LT and RT all the way to their ends of travel. To finish, use the LB+RB combination. When the calibration is complete, LEDs 1 and 2 will stop blinking.
Hall Effect analog triggers, Kailh microswitch bumpers, Alps 3D joysticks, 2 mappable back buttons, and textured rubber grips equip the X2 Pro, a controller tailored for Xbox cloud gaming on Android smartphones. Create AAA handheld games.
