The Lenovo ThinkStation P360 Ultra is a workstation that is about half the size of a normal small form factor (SFF) machine. This is a new and unique form factor for Lenovo. It’s more like something like the HP Z2 Mini, but in terms of speed, it can go a bit further. Even though it’s small, it has up to 125W processors and powerful Nvidia graphics.

It’s also made to be easy to get inside, so you can always improve things like the memory, storage, or CPU. We like this machine a lot. The small size makes it easy to fit in a small place like mine, but it still has a lot of power and ports. This is a good choice if you need a machine for heavy tasks like video or 3D rendering that doesn’t take up a lot of space on your desk. The price is also very competitive.

Lenovo ThinkStation P360 Ultra review: Design
The ThinkStation P360 Ultra is a small desktop computer. Its case is only 3.9 liters (3.4 x 8.7 x 7.9 inches), which is a tenth of the size of a standard mid-tower. It fits almost everywhere. It starts out at 3.96 pounds, but when fully set up, it can weigh almost 8 pounds.
Lenovo puts the P360 Ultra through 12 military-grade tests to make sure it is well made. Almost the whole case is made of metal. The air flow grate in front is made of plastic. One USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and an audio combo jack are on the front of the computer. You can buy this from its official website
Lenovo ThinkStation P360 Ultra review: Ports
The back end of the system is where all of the action takes place. There are a lot of ports available to us here, many more than a TinyMiniMicro PC would have. To begin, there are two ports for network connections. The first is a 2.5GbE port, and the second is a 1GbE port. That is one situation in which having two 2.5GbE ports instead would have been a welcome addition. There are four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports available for communication through USB.
Lenovo ThinkStation P360 Ultra review: Performance
When it comes to the CPU, picking a 65W CPU instead of a 125W CPU might not hurt performance all that much, especially in single-threaded or light-threaded workflows. On paper, the 65W Intel Core i9-12900 and the 125W Intel Core i9-12900K are very similar. Both have 8 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores and Max Turbo speeds that are similar. (5.1 GHz vs 5.2 GHz). You’ll probably notice the biggest change in performance when rendering, since the Core i9-12900K can use up to 241W more power when all of its cores are being used.
Lenovo ThinkStation P360 Ultra review: Pricing and availability
Lenovo released the ThinkStation P360 Ultra in June. Its starting price was $1,299, which is a good price for a machine like this. My setup is a lot more complicated than the base model, and it costs $2,833.95 at B&H Photo.
But Lenovo’s website almost always has a sale going on, so you’re likely to find it for less than that. This exact configuration isn’t yet available on Lenovo’s website, but you can get a very similar configuration with twice as much RAM for less than what you’d pay at B&H Photo.
Final Words
The ThinkStation P360 Ultra is a huge step forward for desktop computers that are very small. As architects and engineers go beyond just CAD and BIM in their processes, they no longer need to build bigger towers to meet their higher performance needs. The option to set up the machine with an Nvidia RTX A5000, which is a laptop version with a slightly lower performance profile, is probably the biggest change.
