When you put on your gaming headset, have you ever considered what’s actually in there. These days, the mylar driver is the standard in most headsets. While graphene may be used in the coating of the driver in some headphones, this particular model only uses a little quantity. The acoustic diaphragm of the Logitech Pro X 2 Lightspeed, however, is made of graphene for the first time.
This is a novel sort of material that can lead to decreased distortion and improved audio quality, which may or may not be important to you. After using this headset for three weeks, I can confidently state that it lives up to the expectations. Logitech may have tweaked the exterior design slightly between generations to make this headset more comfortable to wear and better connected, but the real improvement lies within.
Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed Specifications
The most notable improvement is a pair of 50 mm graphene diaphragm Pro-G graphene audio drivers. The Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed delivers exceptionally high quality sound with minimum distortion because graphene is both highly rigid and very light.

Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed: Design

Similar to the original Pro X Wireless, the Pro X 2 Lightspeed has a lightweight aluminium steel chassis. Logitech didn’t make many cosmetic adjustments, however the hinges in the back of the headband can now be rotated. Although this may not seem like a major improvement, the Pro X 2 Lightspeed has a better fit on the head than other gaming headsets thanks to this.
Even during marathon gaming sessions, we find that wearing glasses helps keep the headset in place, especially while making quick head movements. The headset is easier to put on and take off when hung over my neck. It weighs 345 grams, compared to the previous model’s 372 grams. All of these adjustments made my two-hour gaming session more comfortable by relieving pressure on my head from the headband. You can buy this headphone from its official website
Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed: Comfort
The Logitech G Pro X 2 headset features leather-like materials on the interior and foam earpads for comfort. Because of this, even prolonged use is pleasant. The highest praise for a headset is that it goes unnoticed, and this was generally the case. The headset’s flexible headband and plush foam padding make it a pleasant wear. The headset is now comfortably perched around my ears. Keep in mind that after wearing them for a while, the basic leather-like earpad covers may start to feel sweaty.
The headgear was pleasant enough, but we had to remove it so my head could get some air. My Sennheiser HD 599 headphones contain velour padding, so they’re soft and comfortable to wear. The Pro X 2’s interchangeable earpads are soft velour, which is a nice touch.
Buttons and connectivity

Which could only connect via Lightspeed, the new model supports three different types of connections: Lightspeed dongle, Bluetooth 5.3, and a standard 3.5mm wired socket. The fact that this headgear may be used with multiple platforms (computers, game consoles, and mobile phones) helps justify its high price tag. My iPhone connected wirelessly through Bluetooth, my Xbox by 3.5mm cable, and my gaming PC wirelessly via Lightspeed connectivity all provided musical entertainment.
The headset is controlled by buttons located on the underside of the left earcup. A tiny LED light on the volume slider will light up if the headphones are linked. The microphone switch, mute button, and volume wheel (which looks like the middle scroll wheel on a mouse) round out the controls.
Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed: Software
The microphone on the Pro X 2 Lightspeed is supported by Blue Vo!ce software that provides a number of voice-tweaking settings to choose from. Some of these effects include Bass Boost, Classic Radio, which suppresses your voice at lower volumes, Warm and Vintage, which accentuates lower frequencies, and so on. After experimenting with many of them, we settled on the Broadcaster 1 default as the most satisfying overall.
My teammates, however, have never warmed up to my voice, no matter what volume we use. The mic on this headset, a 6mm cardio unidirectional electret condenser, isn’t as good as the 9.9mm condenser mic on, say, the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro, which also has a built-in pop shield and other handy extras.
Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed: Battery Life
When processing at maximum speed, video editing on a MacBook Air uses hardly no battery life at all. It’s one of the few laptops we’ve tested that can survive an entire workday without needing to be recharged once. With only a 28W processor and a 49.5Wh battery, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 will need to pull out all the stops if it is to remain competitive. In our testing, the Gen 2 lasted an average of a little over four hours, which is much less than what the MacBook Air can manage.
Price and availability
The Logitech Pro X 2 Lightspeed is more expensive than many other gaming headphones on the market at $249 / €269 (about AU$375). I was thinking it would be priced similarly to the Logitech Pro X Lightspeed, so the fact that it is more expensive is a bit of a letdown.
It’s not the best wireless gaming headset out there, but it’s not the worst, either. The Audeze Maxwell, SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, and the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro are just a few of the more expensive choices.
Final words
The Logitech Pro X 2 Lightspeed is the ideal headset for high-stakes gaming thanks to its graphene drivers, which are both more stiff and lighter than traditional drivers. It leans heavily on the midrange and can get a little muddy with the surround sound turned up, but that’s not fatal. We’re just wondering if it’ll be worthwhile in the end.
