An alternative to the Oppo Find X5 Pro that is available at a lower price point is the Oppo Find X5 Lite. Aside from sharing a name, the two have very nothing in common. This Android device is a functional option in the middle price category, and it comes with a few features and capabilities that make it simple to use. The Oppo Find X5 Lite is neither cumbersome nor excessively thick. It quickly charges, and it has a connection for headphones built right in.
Despite the fact that it does not have top-of-the-line hardware, it has an excellent battery life and the primary camera delivers satisfactory results in the majority of scenarios. When it comes time to upgrade your contract, if you are offered an Oppo Find X5 Lite at a decent price, there are very few noticeable flaws that should prevent you from going forward with the change. However, it is a harder sell to people who plan to buy a phone entirely, as much of the top competition comes from Oppo sister brands such as OnePlus and Realme.

Oppo Find X5 Lite review: Design and Build
Phones in the middle price band, like the Oppo Find X5 Lite, have a hard time. At arm’s length, cheaper devices often look just as expensive as more expensive ones. Also, unlike five years ago, even $500/£400 devices don’t always have glass backs and metal sides. The back and sides of the Oppo Find X5 Lite are made of plastic, but they look nice thanks to a design process called Oppo Glow.
This is about the shiny back finish. It looks and feels like frosted glass, but it’s actually plastic. You can choose between two different ends. The Starry Black finish (reviewed here) is said to be a blue-to-black gradient, but in a well-lit room, it looks more dark blue-to-gray. It’s nice and tastes pretty good. Startrails Blue is a lot brighter and turns purple when the light hits it. You can buy this phone from its official website
Oppo Find X5 Lite: Display
The screen on the Oppo Find X5 Lite is 6.43 inches and has a resolution of 2400 x 1080. This screen is about the right size for a phone, and it helps keep the phone small and easy to use. It’s a decent OLED screen. You get all the normal benefits, like perfect contrast and clear viewing from any angle, and the screen doesn’t change color much when you tilt the phone.
At an extreme angle, some OLED screens can look a little blue or pink. Color is also great. When you turn on the Oppo Find X5 Lite for the first time, it will be set to the Vivid mode. It packs a punch, but not too much. There is also a setting called “Natural,” which brings the color calibration much closer to the standard sRGB.
Oppo Find X5 Lite: Camera
One of the biggest changes between this phone and the others in the Find X5 line is that it doesn’t have Oppo’s dedicated Marisilicon X NPU chip, which the company says improves image processing. Instead, the X5 Lite has a camera with three lenses, the largest of which is a 64Mp main lens with an aperture of f/1.7.
Textures on the main 64Mp lens look great both indoors and out, and it does a pretty good job of capturing motion, like moving water. Even though the colors on the Oppo Find X5 Lite are bold and bright, the HDR mode can sometimes make colors look a little less real, especially green tones.
Oppo Find X5 Lite: Performance
It has a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, which puts it in the middle of speed. It got scores of 701 in single-core and 2,185 in multi-core on Geekbench 5. In the end, this means that this phone can handle most jobs pretty well. I didn’t have any trouble switching between a lot of open windows or apps, though it was noticeably slower than its flagship competitors.
Battery Life & Charging
The Find X5 Lite’s 4500 mAh battery is one of its best features. It’s more than enough to last a whole day on a single charge. The phone also has facial recognition, a fingerprint scanner, and voice control, making it a smart and easy-to-use gadget. But it can’t be charged wirelessly, and it isn’t resistant to drops or water. The Find X5 Lite has 5G and Bluetooth 5.2, which makes it great for quickly sending and receiving info and talking.
Price and availability
In Australia, you can buy the OPPO Find X5 Lite for $799. That makes it the least expensive of the new smartphones from OPPO. This is neither good nor bad in and of itself, but the background adds color to both what works and what doesn’t about the device. If you want to buy the Find X5 Lite 5G with a plan, you can do so at Woolworths Mobile, Vodafone, or Optus. In the widget below, you can see a list of popular deals.
Final Words
If you like the sound of the Oppo Find X5 series but can’t bring yourself to spend £750 or more on a smartphone, the Oppo Find X5 Lite is a great option, even though it doesn’t look like a member of the family. The sharp 6.43-inch screen is great, and its performance is on par with other mid-range phones. Its small size makes it easy to hold, and the three-lens camera system on the back will surprise you with the quality of the photos it can take.

Oppo Find X5 Lite review: the good and the bad
The Good
- Competent camera
- Speedy charging
The Bad
- Still only running on Android 11
faqs
We couldn’t get the PCMark app’s battery test to run, but the Oppo Find X5 Lite got a very good 12 hours and 6 minutes on the Geekbench 4 test. In real life, this 4500mAh cell (which is made up of two 2250mAh batteries connected together) can give you power for up to two days, based on how you use it.
Since it’s not IP rated, you can’t say that it’s waterproof or even water-resistant, so you’ll need to be careful if you use it in the rain. The Oppo Find X5 Lite is the most easy to hold because it is the smallest.
