Philips 27B1U5601H review

One of the most recent additions to the selection of business monitors offered by Philips, the 27B1U5601H is a reputable screen manufacturer’s product. This is a monitor that is serious about its work, as the name of the product line that it comes from suggests. It is designed for use in the office and comes equipped with an integrated 5MP Windows Hello webcam as well as built-in speakers.

It may be used with a permanent desktop or, owing to its easy connectivity through USB-C, it can be used as a second screen for your laptop. We used it in my home office for several weeks, both for work purposes supporting my small laptop screen and for play and hobbies when hooked up to my gaming desktop. We enjoyed its no-frills presence on my desk in work guise and got a good sense of its limitations when it came to after-hours activities.

Design and Build

Philips 27B1U5601H review

As was alluded to up top, the Philips 27B1U5601H isn’t exactly a show stopper. The 27-inch IPS display has three conventional bezels on the left, a larger bar in the middle, and the usual Philips logo and control buttons in the lower right. Many modern monitors (including many made by Philips) make the fatal error of placing the controls that adjust the screen’s settings in an inconvenient location on the monitor’s back. Sometimes there’s only one button, and to press it, you have to bend your front limbs into terrible postures, like in a ballet.

A godsend in this case is the arrangement of five clearly labeled buttons along the front bottom bar. This Philips device knows how to keep things simple, as befits a professional monitor. This is especially helpful if you are working in a hot-desking arrangement and wish to return to your preferred settings to prevent repetitive stress injuries to your wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Philips 27B1U5601H: Performance

Philips 27B1U5601H review

The Philips 27B1U5601H monitor has received praise for its excellent picture quality and extensive set of functions. Its high resolution screen and cutting-edge electronics allow for a lifelike and fluid viewing experience. The monitor has a Full HD IPS LCD panel measuring 27 inches in size and displaying a resolution of 1920 pixels by 1080. This produces crisp and detailed graphics, improving the quality of movies, games, and other forms of media for the end user. The Philips 27B1U5601H performs admirably, with a 60Hz refresh rate and a swift 4ms response time. These requirements make gaming or watching movies more enjoyable by eliminating motion blur and ghosting, even during intense, fast-paced action.

Philips 27B1U5601H: Price

The Philips 27B1U5601H is a reasonably priced monitor for the office. If you’re interested in this screen, you should know that its recommended retail price (RRP) is just under £500, although you may find it for less than £400 on several UK sites. It has a relatively low price for an IPS panel of this size and with these specs, but it’s not the ideal choice for either creative work or gaming.

Final Words

The Philips 27B1U5601H isn’t aiming at artists or gamers with years of experience. Philips has produced a monitor with a screen sharp enough for regular office work, casual gaming, and creative work, and with a responsive enough design to appear well next to other displays in an office. It is well suited for use in both private homes and shared workspaces due to its abundance of ports and connectivity options, including USB-C. This Philips monitor outshines its competitors in terms of connectivity options and user-friendliness.
