Realme, a Chinese competitor to brands such as OnePlus and Xiaomi, has been quietly having a bit of a stormer in 2022, despite the fact that these other brands have been getting a lot of attention. While the Realme GT 2 Pro has created quite a stir at the higher end of the market, the Realme 9 Pro+ is widely regarded as one of the finest smartphones available at this price point.
Along with the even more affordable Realme C31, the Realme C35 is now available with the intention of causing a similar kind of disruption inside the budget phone market. Despite the fact that it will be competing in an industry with a dangerously thin profit margin, we believe it has a good chance of distinguishing itself from the rest of the pack. If you only have 150 pounds to spend on a phone, you won’t have many options to choose from.

Realme C35: Design

The bright Glowing Green color of the Realme C35 might catch your eye, unless you’re looking at the black form of the phone. Up close, this phone looks more normal. It has a USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack along the bottom, a volume rocker on the left edge, a power button with a fingerprint reader built in along the right edge, and a rectangular camera bump sticking out of the plastic back. The fingerprint reader was a little hard to use, but we were able to get it to work by registering the same finger twice. You can buy this smartphone from its official website
Realme C35: Display
The display on the realme C35 is a 6.6-inch IPS LCD with a 1080 x 2408 (Full HD+) resolution. It only updates at 60Hz, which is typical for a phone in this price range. Overall, we were happily surprised by how well it could show colors and how sharp it could be. The rim around the screen is pretty thin, but it gets a bit wider at the bottom. fAt its brightest, the screen can show up to 600 nits. The screen is bright enough to be used both inside and outside.
Realme C35: Cameras

The back of the C35 has three cameras: a main lens with a 50MP f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. There’s an 8-megapixel camera on the front for taking selfies. The realme C35 can take 1080p video at 30 frames per second. The camera app is very simple and offers HDR, Photo, Portrait, Burst, Time Lapse, Pro Mode, Panorama, Night Pro, and Macro.
Performance and Battery Life
The Unisoc Tiger T616 chipset is the “brains” of the Realme C35. If you know much about mobile technology, the name “Unisoc” might make you think of phones that are slow and glitchy, but we didn’t think the C35 was that bad. The phone was pretty easy to use, both for simple things like scrolling through choices and for more complicated things like using social media apps and checking emails.
The battery on the Realme C35 is a big 5000mAh. Because of the LCD 60Hz screen and the lack of 5G connectivity, the C35 was one of the smartphones we’ve tested lately that lasted the longest. The phone was easy to use for a whole day and usually worked well into the next day, too. That meant a lot of social media, photography, and sometimes downloading an extra app.
Price and Availability
Those specs sound good enough, provided the processor is up to par, and the price of £169 is also competitive. The Realme C31 costs £40 less.
At that price, the Motorola Moto G31 (£170), the Nokia G50 (£200), and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 (also £200) are some of its rivals. It’s a pretty crowded market, so the Realme C35 needs to do everything it can to stand out.
Final Words
Even though the Realme C35 is a very cheap phone, it still tries to stand out with a bold and sharp design. Realme has mostly hit the mark when it comes to photography, too, thanks to a good 50Mp main camera.
A 6.6-inch IPS LCD doesn’t sound like much on paper, but it’s a sharp and accurate part. Even though the Unisoc Tiger T616 engine that runs everything isn’t very powerful, it was a good idea to go with a 60Hz refresh rate.
